Known Info About Humankind

I think we can confirm Mayans, the city center in one screeshot is straight up the Palenque palace.

You mean this one? Isn't the quarter next to it a colossal head quarter, which would make it an olmec city?

I also wonder if the smaller pyramid quarter to the left indicates that common quarters, such as temples, use culturally appropriate graphics. Would be very, very nice if true. Or I'm completely wrong and it is a Mayan city with this being the emblematic quarter.

Yes, the big city center is straight up Palenque Palace, I'd be surprised if those graphics didn't belong to the Mayans

I think the other quarter is some sort of entertainment quarter, It look generic enough that it could be any ball court in mesoamerica, If it was a quarter unique to the Maya it would probably have more monumental architecture...or as an example, if it was unique, I can't believe they would pass up on the ballcourt at Chichen Itza, that thing is monumental.

I think Mayans have enough unique architecture that their EQ should pop up inmediately, say, a ceremonial center (Like Tikal or El Mirador) , an observatory building or even a Sacred Cenote.

You mean this one? Isn't the quarter next to it a colossal head quarter, which would make it an olmec city?

Oh sorry I thought you meant the other one (red pyramid and ballcourt) , well it could be possible because Olmecs are Ancient, Mayans would be Classical, but looking at the heads, they don't seem to correspond with the thumbnail we got for the Olmecs.

Also that Quarter looks like it has multiple spaces for other buildings, perhaphs the heads are placeover art, and it's a government quarter or sorts? It looks generic enough that it could fit any mesoamerican.

Or, Olmec was the bronze age culture and Maya is the classical culture that they are now

Basically this, yes. Also keep in mind that everything we show is work in progress, so not necessarily everything is done and integrated.

As Nomads you get to choose a legacy trait either +1 combat, +1 food or +1 production

Don't be too focused on specific numbers. As mentioned above, all of this is work in progress, and as Paradox likes to say: Not final numbers are not final.

Aksumites confirmed. Shotelai EU and Great Obelisk EQ. Merchant type.

Major terrain features are called Landmarks. Big ones can be named.

There are strategic and luxury resources.

Altitude variation woohoo.

There's some kind of colorful ridge natural wonder

From dev diary #2

I know that numbers are not final, but I still think there is interesting information here. Food, Production & Science are tile yields, as expected. Vegetation on a tile reduces the food yield and adds production. Coastal tiles can yield food, but not necessarily, probably depending on terrain features. Vegetation can be more or less dense and the amount of production corresponds to that.

Angkor Wat and Taj Mahal seem to be Wonders.

Bonus: More Pyramids

The blog post has another mountain wonder in it, but I don't seem to know any mountain that combines the three central elements: a trench around it, incredibly steep, two peaks.

It's probably too early, but:

- Grasland: 1 food.
- Light forest: 1 production.
- Dense forest: 2 production.
- River: +2 food.

Close, but not quite.

The important piece of information about the yields we wanted to communicate in this video: These resource yields are independent of the biome. A light forest in the savannah will look different than a temperate region or a taiga, but they will have the same industry yield. And of course, the different biomes will have different ratios of the terrain types (you'd be lucky to find even a few forest tiles in a desert biome...)

Don't know if this is all already known info, and it this is the right thread for it. If not, please feel free to move somewhere else.

I'm a member of a Facebook community on humankind (Amplitude's Humankind Community)... It's NOT lead by anyone from Amplitude as far as I know,
but the peeps running it seem very well connected.

Anyways, the following post was inserted earlier today, tought I'd pass the info, as there seems to be a lot on info on the twitch feed (I haven't had the time to watch it all yet).
The Event system is apparently talked about in more depth, and one thing I've noticed from these 4 screenshot is a confirmation that there will be a Hero System... Not sure if that
was ever mentioned before, I certainly don't remember hearing about it. Also, already mention about major increase in cultures via DLCs.

Also, first time I try to include images in a post...sorry if it's not how it should be done, they're quite big... I will change how I posted them if someone can tell me how to make it better

Here's the integral post from PM Bartoli, the person running the community:

Thanks to Damien Devismes, I could watch this one hours conference of 4 Amplitude devs and staff at Pax West. (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/474947055?t=02h00m00s)

Most important news: there will be an event system (see screenshots below) and the base 60 cultures will definitely be expanded with DLCs.

According to them, there will be between 120 and 150 events at launch. Some of them are triggered by how you're faring, what you've done, if you've reached a certain amount of scientific era points for example. Others are triggered by the culture you're chosen (like the second one here, the Druidic event for the Celtic culture).

This is info from PAX last year.

Oh... sorry then. Should I remove the post ? I remember seeing some screen shots on the event system before, but I thought these were new...

I guess it doesn't hurt to refresh it, since it's buried in the other thread. I just didn't want anyone to think it was some new exclusive information.

They are good to have here.

So, if this is old information, are Heros still a thing then? Would be a welcome change from governors and great persons to have emblematic heroes to your culture. But no items please...
