Dealing with a brushfire in terrain too rugged for ground approaches the entire aerial effort (ie, all the effort) had to be stopped because a dingbat wanted to get good pics for their social media accounts and flew a drone into the airspace.

In other news: Seven Eleven delivers first Slurpee by drone. And in other news: Mountain Dew contains flame retardant.

Putting 1+1+1 together: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. :D

This really should have been posted in the Random Rants thread.

I was thinking it would make a good new recurring item thread. There should be some sort of new dingbat misusing technology at least weekly, if not more often.

Well I can think of my own dingbatness.

There is the time I used the flyback transformer in my old microwave oven to light fireworks. That should have made me a dead dingbat.

Or the time I used a bucket lift and an electric chainsaw to cut tree branches too close to a power line. That created sparks.

Or the time I plugged a leak in my power steering hose with duct tape. I got my power steering back exactly long enough to turn out of my driveway.

Then there's the time I didn't know my microphone was turned on.
