Latest Versions

Will there be new releases for the non-warlord version? Or is this mod only going to support warlord from now on?

Some of my observation by 1st time on World Map on Prince difficulaty.

1. Julious Cesar finally uses his advantage of starting possition. Now he has almost biggest Empire, containing Italy, Austria, Czech, Slovakia, Greece, Serbia y Monte(...), Yugoslavia, Croatia, Rumunia, Nacedonia, Ukraine.
In 600bc ! He has Cathrine, Hannibal, Mehmed II and 2 more vassals. Invaded Mali. A bit good, but inballancing.

2. Shaka finally is not conquering all of Africa by him self... Goood

3. Cyrus finally makes an Imperium ! Conquering Samraquand, All they way up in barbarian territory, and 60-70% of India real land (india was destroyed by him and Chineese). He has Ramses II as vassal.

4. Chineese nicelly expand (finally) and killed Choson in 3000bc... too fast.

5. America can finally withstand barbarians (or only this time) and lead a succesfull campaign against them.

6. Carthage can easilly kill off Rameses II.

7. Better AI defends cities less. Does not garrison more than 3-5 units, even if its capitol. Has problems building galleys, preffer Trireme. I saw Julious Cesar use stack containing 5 city raiders and 3 offence and 5 defence units as scouting army.

8. Looks like assassins are finally ballanced.

9. Judaism spreads slow. Only Mansa as its founder and 3 of my cities have Judaism. That 3 cities of mine are Rabat, Utica and Toledo, witch is build on lower island hill (im Spain).

10. Zoroastrianism spreads TOO fast. 3 times faster than Judaism when i was reporting it spread rate. In 850bc when Cristianity was founded (By Washington), Zoroastrianism was in 2 of 3 French cities, 2 British cities, 3 Ragnar cities, 3 of 4 bismark cities, All Julious Cesar cities, 2 cities of Rameses II, 3 of 4 of Hannibals cities, 2 of 5 Shaka cities, 5 Arabian Cities (including Tatar), 3 cities of Mehmet II, All cities of Cathrine (some were captured by Romans, Cathrine founded Zoroastrianism), 4 of 6 of Cyrus cities (before campaign vs Hinduistic India).
I have founded Islam, Buddism founded by Genghis has spread to Japan and China. Taoism founded in Gao, Mali, so didnt spread and was forgotten.

So i say that countries like Rome and Persia are a bit over powered. Now will play as Cyrus... Or Mansa Musa... or Mehmed II...

just started playing warlords version as the turks. jesus i'm surrounded on all sides by barbs. couldnt leave my city grid for 50+ turns. had to build a lot of warriors to protect my improvements which i finally got around to building (as i start with no techs and theyre damn expensive). am gunning for chariots now so i have a chance to plow through some barb ass. scouting is out of the question, but all the other civs dont seem to give a ****. theyre all a good bit ahead of me and i'm damn lucky i have horses in my city radius otherwise i might as well have given up as theres no chance of expanding without conquest.

i like the challenge of having to conquer my way up the ladder. but as an ai civ theyre ****ed. might be a good idea to start the turks (and others maybe) with one or two techs. its just that theres nothing to do for the first 50-70 turns except build warriors that really cant even dent a marauding barb archer or huntsman.

It's back up, and no, we don't have any mirrors yet. If any of you guys would be so good as to arrange us one, you're welcome. ;)

I ended up not getting it to work using firefox, but could have downloaded any other file, (like the last version TR for vanilla) but it kept saying it was down for maintenence
So I tried it using Internet Explorer and it worked fine, so if any one else has the problem......

I have often thought canals as a terrain alteration would be neat. A land locked city could build boats and receive the trade benefits of being a coastal city. Or create a short cut on a narrow continent. Passage could be used as a trading asset when negotiating with other nations. Especially if your alliance is at war.
Another idea I have is to build 'National Parks' on jungle or forest. Eco-tourism seems pretty big these days. This upgrade could be looked at as a cash cow and make a few people happy. If one is smart enough to look ahead and save the trees they should receive some sort of benefit, and you can never have too much money!
