Leader Fest: An Open Succession Game

I had to post this without delay, too sweet.

Dead:
Mao, Ottoman, Ghandi, Kon, Gil, Arabia, Rome, Brennus, Ragnar, Dutch, Spain, Hiawatha.

62 leaders, 45(2) armies [735]

Captured Great Wonders:
Magellan, SoZ, Sun Tzu, Great lighthouse, Leo's, Bach MoM.

Razed for sure:
GLB, Colossus, Great Wall

Space Parts Done: 5

Still available to build:
Hoovers, ToE, US, Seti

Continue 1730AD I switch Heidelburg to a recycling center and waste 66 shields. No need for any more armies.

1740AD:
Razed Alaca Huyuk for 48 gold. man they must have bought something.

1745AD:
Raze Nottingham. Ugarit for 56. Mostly I disband the workers or let them make a road and disband.

1750AD:
Yummy, got SGL. Drop research to zero and rush ToE. Nice 2 free modern age techs. I filled one army with MA. I am going to start a rail to the NE of this continent to allow MA and Panzers to attack towns. I am not concerned about them using it to hit me now. They are too weak and I can park a few armies to make them get off a few times.

Dead:
Mao, Ottoman, Ghandi, Kon, Gil, Arabia, Rome, Brennus, Ragnar, Dutch, Spain, Hiawatha, Hittites.

65 leaders, 45(2) armies [775]

Captured Great Wonders:
Magellan, SoZ, Sun Tzu, Great lighthouse, Leo's, Bach MoM.

Razed for sure:
GLB, Colossus, Great Wall

Space Parts Done: 8

Still available to build:
Hoovers, US, Seti, Internet, UN, Manhattan

Built:
ToE via SGL

1750AD: continued
Did I mention how much I hate boats with sails. Elite frigate went to the locker against a 1hp frigate, 5 bad rolls in a row. All tiles have a road or will next turn. Roads all have rails, except for some mountains.

1752AD:
ToE gives Miniturization and Superconductor. They are the most expensive and I start on Satillites in 4 at 80%. Raze Mandalgovi. Raze Piedras Negras (Mayan). I forgot to mention a lot of WLTCD as Silks arrive. Filled the 45th army, so all filled.

1754AD:
Newly minted 45th MA army razed Emar. Disband the artie. Raze Tabriz. Panzer gets
63rd leader and rushes SS Life Support [757].

1758AD:
Razed Hattusha. Raze Hubishna. Raze Norwich.

1760AD:
Start Nuc Power in 4 turns. Raze Coventry. Raze York. Panzer gets 64th leader on the 9th elite win and rushes SS Thrusters [766].

1762AD:
Finished all tiles on mainland and parked hundreds of slaves, whew. Rail is nearing the Inca border. Raze Richmond. Raze Brighton.

1764AD:
Got to admire England. They are down to 2 towns and will be OCC this turn. No problem they send a lone rifle to attack the second largest nation. Raze Kaminaljuyu and Smoke is OCC. Raze Hastings and England is OCC.

1766AD:
Rails start to work as MA's raze Aleppo. First run of Rusians look to be coming, but the stack of MA (10) kill the 7 Cossacks that stopped by Aleppo. Five went elite. Looks like Hittites are now OCC. I see Pacha is a paper tiger as some 28 of 36 towns are size 3 or less.

I see the some 22 tech are unknown to all, but me and RP is still only known to three others.

1768AD:
MA gets 65th leader on [775]. Rush SS Fuel Cell. Raze Salonika. Hittites are gone. Start on Laser in 4 at 80%. Raze Dalandzadgad.

Could ya send me another save if possible.

Dead:
Mao, Ottoman, Ghandi, Kon, Gil, Arabia, Rome, Brennus, Ragnar, Dutch, Spain, Hiawatha, Hittites, Grreks, English.

69 leaders, 47(2) armies [788]

Captured Great Wonders:
Magellan, SoZ, Sun Tzu, Great lighthouse, Leo's, Bach, MoM.

Razed for sure:
GLB, Colossus, Great Wall, ToA, Oracle

Space Parts Done: 10

Still available to build:
Hoovers, US, Seti, Internet, UN, Manhattan

Built:
ToE via SGL

1770AD:
Raze Konya (Greek). Raze Ulaanbaatar. Raze Baruun-Urt. 3rd elite gets 66th leader and I park it. Will let the MA's heal now as they cannot make a leader anyway. Just use any non elites for promotion tries. I saw a lot of Inca cavs die to Mongols, who are going up in smoke as they war on Pacha and I raze their towns. Raze Choybalsan (Mongol). [778]

Now that the next to last part is covered, may as well DOW Pacha next turn. I am not going to play for the SDI. It would require researching two more techs and would be a snap, but I have a new game I bought over a week ago that I have only installed. I also want to take a look at the Civ5 patch.

1774AD:
Raze Ta-Tu (Mongol). DOW Pacha and raze Ereen. MA's raze Iznik the current Greek capitol. Used an MI and it went elite. They have no interest in attacking MI, tanks or armies so far. Cruiser redlined against a 1hp frigate. Boats reek.

1776AD:
Rush SS Party Lounge and start on the last tech I need. Crazy AI run units around my tanks and they get shot up as they pass and end up red or yellow. Raze Thessalonica, Greeks are in the OCC club now. Sparta autorazed (Inca).

Too lazy to try to reduce the time to 4 turns. Not sure I can anyway as I make
4100bpt and it takes 17066, so I would need about 56 more scientist. Most of the towns are now grown out, but I could go around and add workers to those still not done. I also could drop all my settlers and add workers to them and get there, but not going to do it.

1778AD:
Twice the game has locked up with the space view screen as it completes a part. It always crashes on the space launch, do not recall this one. Then again, could not tell you the last time I played a launch. Doesn't matter as there won't be any more as I not end turn, once I rush the last part.

The 300 failed this time and Thermopylae falls and the "Gloriuos Greeks" are done. The AI is so lame that I have to build roads, before I can rail in many spots. Razed Athens (Incan). Raze Kazan and used the 2 trebs on Mayan rifles as several Mongols are around and may attack them. (They in fact killed them) Hard to believe no one has taken the lone town (size 2) and finished Smoke. Mongols have couple more towns, before you hit the mountains and then it will be slow going.

Well there it is the 4th elite gets the 67th leader. I park it till Robotics comes in and that will be it [782].

1780AD:
Raze Corinth. Raze Istabbul with the ToA and get 398 gold. Ran into my first infantry.

1782AD:
Shutdown the missiles and sold the factory, hydro and recycle. Raze Karakorum and the Oracle (sorry Neo).

1784AD:
Even shutting down to zero I have more than 1800 beaker overrun. Raze Hovd. Raze Chuito. Raze Knossos. Raze Mycenae. Raze Uskudar.

1786AD:
Rush last part. Raze Almarikh. Raze Exeter for 472 gold and Liz is retired. Raze Alalah. Raze Bursa for 405. This is salt in the wounds, but 3rd elite gets 68th leader and I form 46th army. [785] Stealth in 4.

This is mean, 3rd elite gets 69th leader and form 47th. [788] Upgrade any artie with movement. That is the end as the game will crash on IBT when the launch occurs.

Thanks everyone. I thought I was going to get through with no SGL and no built wonders, but if I only had one that was about the best time for it. I don't recall ever getting modern age techs from ToE.

I was really getting worn down by all those slaves and the large mount of unimproved land the AI left behind. That is why I did not want to take on grabbing land on the other continent. Once I parked the slaves, it was a huge relieve.

Not having the GLB put me in a hole that took into the IA to get out of. I was getting a little concerned that they were doing so well on the research front. Soon as they got their frree IA techs they fell on their faces as I hoped they would.

Thanks for the concept Spoonwood. Probably there is a better way to do it than the one I used.

It did not look all that great in the first 100-150 turns that for sure. Eventually size matters, well that an armies.

They usually do, don't they? I once had a Deity game on a standard, 60% pangea map against 4 non-scientific opponents, we all entered the Industrial Age I think at the same time, it took me I think 24 turns to research Steam Power and I still beat them to it.

There was still at least 10 civs left and 5 had over 20 towns, with Inca over 30. I had expected them to slow, but they nearly stopped. They went from ahead and close to the end of the MA to being nearly two ages behind and only a few tech by a few nation in the IA.

I think they were at war with each other, but not doing much damage to anything other than their econ.

Well, sure. They were busy researching Nationalism and Fascism.
