Ooh yeah talking about an interesting figure! I’d give him a unique elephant unit though, which they seem to not do in this pack, unfortunately.. Though it does fit their type of leaders released
Still nothing... don't tell me these Twitter posts are replacement of videos because Fraxis didn't have enough time. How unprofessional. They really can't manage time can they? I thought time management is key aspect of adult life.
If we had mods like this in the workshop it would be universally lauded by the community and no doubt considered S tier. And that's before even considering the animation and voice acting, which would make it S+++.
This model is bad by the standard set by Firaxis and in comparison with other models from Vanilla to GS.
LP looked like it would be better than NFP in terms of the quality of the models, now it's looking like it might be in the same ballpark, or maybe a bit better. Ramses and Theodora just don't look that great. Ludwig looks bland as well. (tbf, there's some reaaally good models in the LP, like Sundiata, Wu Zetian and Nzinga).
Ramses voice acting felt off. The voice acting for Theodora could still compensate. The animation will probably look rigid like Ramses. Also not digging that golden bracelet which seems to bend like it's melting.
I would be satisfied if I see video of Theodora or Ludwig, never mind Sejong. I am really afraid they might forgo video and just stick on posting pics on Twitter.
But would this mean no first look video as well? That they would unceremoniously be released without any announcement in youtube except small tabs on community page?

Who knows. How many hidden videos are there on youtube?
We could get a first look video instead. We could just get a livestream with details. There could be nothing.
I think it's clear from the start that the marketing is in new hands. At this point it could be either a) someone testing different marketing approaches and the relatively engagement they create for the run up to the release for 7 or b) someone who is limited by resourcing issues (either their own, or by the dev team getting the materials they need to make videos to them).
That remains odd to me. I wonder, given the initial UA discrepancies, if marketing is only getting like the final, final builds very last minute (ie they are now waiting for post QA in case abilities change, etc). If it's an intentional decision, then it feels like they believe the main audience for the first looks is people who haven't bought the LP?
The title is "CivFanatics" - by definition, Fanatics are not reasonable people. We are, therefore, obliged to put on our Unreasonable Hats or aluminum foil helmets when posting here . . .
Leader Pass is offered for free.
Therefore, its quality should not be compared to DLC that is sold for a fee.
It should be compared to mods that are released for free.
LP is not DLC and should be considered an official mod by Firaxis.
If LP were paid for, people would be outraged at its quality and demand a refund.
But if it was released on Steam workshop, people would rave about its quality and give it a 5 star rating.

It’s not free. They charge for it and they’re directly getting sales of other dlc for it.
This is really besides the point. It’s in no way comparable to a mod. The LP is official content from a AAA game studio under the biggest publisher in the world. Whatever Firaxis adds to the game is permanently a part of its legacy.
Mods are created by one or a few amateurs for free. Modders have nowhere close to the resources official developers have. Mods also do not affect the final, official presentation of a game.
I am well within my right to expect quality from an official release and to be disappointed at the slippage of that quality.
It's sometimes hard to see in the moment, but I'll bet 95% of us are going to look back in 1-2 years and realise how little effort they put into this whole LP thing (if we don't already).

There was clearly some unreasonable deadlines and limitations put on this pass. Such a shame because you can tell Ed and the gang still have a lot of love for the game

Well, judging by the quality of NFP and LP, I have to say that Firaxis is not a AAA game studio, but only an A or AA game studio at best.
There is no doubt that Civ is a very popular game, played by tens of thousands of people a day. But its profitability may not always be high.
Perhaps Firaxis has put most of its meager budget into developing Civ7, so there was no development money left to spend on NFP and LP.
Test Bart is likely the Great Builders pack. Test Pinky is likely the Rulers of England pack. Test LPJ was possibly something related to the free Caesar pack.
The 2297840 DLC is the big unknown.
If there were doing yet abother hidden leader, I think i'd do Isabella of Spain, second place Napoleon. My logic is that other popular choices are:
Napoleon = France has already a 2.5 leaders
Augustus = Rome got Julius Caesar in this pass
Catherine = Russia
Hannibal = Phoenicia isn't base game and I doubt they'd make a hidden special DLC for a non vanilla race.
Isabella is popular, shows up frecuently, Spain is vanilla and doesn't have any secondary leaders
France does have 3 leaders already, but England will have 4 by the end of the pass, and the French will be missing the French leader. I'd almost be surprised if Napoleon didn't get added in. I'd agree with your other assessments though, although I'm not convinced that Rome won't get another leader - China and England got whole packs (almost, in England's case) dedicated to then despite having already had two leaders. Rome must be a soft spot for this kind of thing.
On the other hand, Spain would stand out if they didn't get a second leader.

If, and that's a bif if, it's Russia it probably won't be Catherine because she's another Romanov, and we already have a Catherine in the game. I'd expect someone like Ivan IV. I do agree with you that Isabella would be first followed by Napoleon.
If Rome gets another one I'd love them to throw out Constantine and make them religious, otherwise I don't necessarily care for another one. I'd much rather see Hannibal, even though its a DLC and would give us something in North Africa, at least.
