leaders for the the next ex pack

Well King James I of England was a strong king, it's Charles I after him who messed everything up.

Henry VIII would be good to see but I think that's already been said. Sorry.

How about someone like King Alfred the Great?

If you like to discuss those internal/epidermic matters, at least add something constructive to this thread and present a list of Scot, Welsh, Irish, etc leaders...
good idea
the 1 st post is updated
:goodjob: :goodjob:
keep up the sugestions

If no-ones mentioned him, and if he's not in the game already (dont have it... yet) -
Henry VIII

The inuits irrigate tundar? As for the seal clubber...

Smart addendum ;)

Thanks! No, they dont REALLY irrigate tundra, but in the game, to make it better for them (a possible way to play), and there could be a rule that they WILL ALWAYS start in tundra.

And why not some legendary leaders: reading the exchange between the Scots and English above, it recalls me:
- the legend of The King Arthur: but where to have him? He was a Roman officer, but then is he Celt, English (Saxon?). I let the UK people answering on this as I am not from those islands...
- ... and Sauron, Legolas, etc...(I forgot the name of the character player by Vigo Mortensen!) from the Lord of the Rings???...
Perhaps for an added scenario...

But for this, we really should have an Open Leader, where you choose the name, the civ (from one already existing), and also choose the 2 starting tecs AND the 2 civilization specs (culture, aggr, expan, etc), so then anyone would be able to have the leader they like, Inuit, Swazi, Thai, Frankish, or your grand-mother!

If the Dutch aren't included we take back parts of Asia and New York and once more rule the oceans. :)

Aye!

Our flag can be the jolly roger :goodjob:

seriously:

America I'd love to play as old Abe again
All Civ's with just one leader - include a second one there

edit: J Eps - you mean something like 'Inuït' get double food from tundra? (don't know if you can make a civ do that, but...) that way you stay more in character with the civ and they don't have to use irrigation...

this would create realy overpowered civs
EG
agg/pro
redcoats
ger

phil/indus
pead
Ikhanda
etc

Overpowered or unbalanced. Exact! It is why I proposed (in another thread) to have them only for:
- custom games
- minimum level Monarchy or Emperor
- unavailable in Multiplayer, EXCEPT if the multiplayer host can filtered out "open leaders" at will

But tell me: why being always masochist (like me!) and making it always the hard way? Why not giving a chance to players not as skilled as most of you in this forum (i.e. 90% of players!!) to test what it feels like in highest levels. No needs for elitism.
It is up to any player to choose what they wish, and their choice will not be always with "overpower" as it is also depending on their strategy, map, and skills.
Just give FREEDOM to those who wish to enjoy the game their way!!!;)

I had some one but he wasnt really a leader and i have forgotten who it was so... meh

America- Richard M Nixon!
What would his traits be? Corrupt and Underhanded? I think there are more than a couple American leaders that would be better suited for a game about "great leaders". Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, even freakin Ronald Reagan would make a better leader (FIN/IMP) ;)

Next expansion it would be great to have the least popular leader of every country. Hitler, Caligula, Nixon, THe Crappy Leader Mod! it would be great, i have to get on that.

Back on track, I was thinking how about Ethiopia as a new civ? They were once a fairly powerful nation, I believe (a long time ago), and I think the game could do with another African civ :)

Weren't they the last African nation to be conquered by a European nation, holding on until the 1930s?

if someone seconds it ill put it on
dont forget to give me some leaders aswell

The only leader I can think of for Ethiopa is of course Haile Sallasie, but he came a bit too late to be considered as a leader for Ethiopa at the height of their power...

Let's see... the history of the region seems rather complex, and I'm afraid I don't know an awful lot about it. Anyone got any ideas?

Might be worth considering it as Abysinnia rather than Ethiopia, not sure which would be best.

How about George Bush for the Americans?

If you ever get attacked, you automatically declare war on a third country that has no ties to the one that attacked you and then just have your troops wander around their territory not doing a whole lot.

It would add a dose of realism to the game.

^^^ LOL!!! Hilarious!

EDIT: On a more serious note, he is 100% correct.

EDIT EDIT: Not so funny to lose brothers/sisters/friends to such a needless war... sorry to bring it down, tho.

Rome: Marcus Aurelius. May be unlikley, since he would have to have the Philosophical trait and the combination of Philosophical and Forums might be too much.
