legacy.log origin of CTD's ???

Hey ive been lurking here quite a while with the same CTD problem as many users here.
I got logging turned on and too my amazement noone has posted about this file before.

Is it as large for others as it is for me?

973KB in size with the following info in it (not evrything pasted here rather large)

Really wierd i have checked the files they are there.
Maybe this is some sort of overflow that causes the CTD ?

Can the ppl who dont have the CTD post if they have the same large legacy.log file?
And the ppl who have the CTD like me let us know if they also have this file?
 
Also noticed alot of network related errorlogs about disconnecting from the entire peer network in a local game?
I got almost a dozen of em in my logs dir :eek:

Anyways still :scan: for other possible leads to this problem.
 
Also noticed in eventviewer that the time the error occures there, is also the same time the legacy.log is last modified.

In my case both occur at 20:34

This further strenghtens my belief this is the cause of all the horror that is CTD in civ 4.
 
Ok since all this errorlog has to do with is errors concerning cuttree, im gonna try turning

; Enable Tree Region Cutting
CutTrees = 1

in the ini file to

; Enable Tree Region Cutting
CutTrees = 0

To see if that works.

Will post my findings here.
 
Well no luck it just crashed on me.
What it does is that it doesnt remove the tree'ss on a tile with tree's and a road so its hard to see if there is a road underneath the tree's

Well back to the drawingboard.
 
I was playing today and before it crash I saw on the screen (Were it usually displays the game log EX: Your warrior defeated an archer) it stated
Could not read file/sound/hanging garden. Then it crashed, anyone getting wierd sound problems?
I looked in the sound folder and I did not see a sound file for The Hanging Gardens.
