Legendary Earth Mod (LEM)

Finished my latest playtest (well not really, but close enough to get an idea of how things are turning out :p) and now I'm moving on to introducing civilization back into North/South America.

As such, I would appreciate recommendations for native tribes that can be represented as city states, particularly in Canada to act as a bulwark and keep the Iroquois on the East Coast. Also, I'll need quite a few for South America, particularly ones that could be placed on the eastern coast to prevent domination by the Inca.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. :)

Happy New Year to you!

I was keeping a list of stuff to suggest for your scenario but after it hit a full page I had to stop. Rather than expect you to implement a bunch of stuff I wanted to see, I just did it myself. Your map plays out very differently with the New World populated, I've been having a blast.

With that in mind, I created a bunch of city states for the Americas (~12) and more elsewhere. All the city states I created have Civilopedia entries and include a grid reference (in a commented-out line) for your LEM v.5 map. You can grab any you want from my scenario after I finish up and post it to share in a few days). It is quite different from the scenario you built and should help extend the replayablity of your fantastic map.

You might also try loading the DLC Conquest of the New World scenario in WorldBuilder along with your map. There are several native American city states included, although they are spooged together in one .xml and tedious to separate. I didn't bother using them, it was more fun to research and create my own.

Cheers!:salute:

I think I can help you with that. :)

Nowadays we don't have many indigenous "cities" in Brazil, most of them were occupied during the colonization process, and renamed.

Here's some suggestions: (Cities in Bold mean they have real indigenous names.)

Manaus, Brazil
Maceió, Brazil
Xingu, Brazil
(This one isn't actually a city, but a national park made to preserve indigenous populations of the area.)
Porto Alegre, Brazil (I really like this one because there was even a separatist group in the 19th century.)
Buenos Aires, Argentina

I recently downloaded the Hewbrew civilization via the Mod Hub and would like to integrate them into the Legendary Earth Mod for my own use, but I'm having some trouble with it. I tried opening the map up with the World/Scenario Editor (running Hebrews, Legendary Earth, Extra City States and Good Clock mods) and adding a start location in vicinity of Jerusalem. When I tick the Load Scenario after choosing the map it removes the option of choosing the Hebrew civ. I don't have any experience working with mods so whatever help anyone could provide would be much appreciated.

Thank you. :thanx:

Looking forward to your new version. Love this map besides Iceland. Lol.

One question will the new version include Babylon, Spain, and the Inca? Again thanks for all your work and Happy New Year!

Been busy over the holiday break so still trying to find time to work on the newest version...it will include most likely include Spain and the Inca, as well as the Aztecs, Iroquois and maybe the Americans.

No Babylon though...there's simply not enough room in the Middle East.

The latest version has been taking longer then I anticipated. There's a lot to work out in both the New/Old World...he's a screenshot of my latest playthrough as Siam:

The Inca and Iroquois are clearly dominating the new world...poor George never got past two cities. :p I've been busy building up my maritime empire in southeast Asia, with designs on eliminating that back-stabber Gandhi and convincing China to declare war on Japan with me.

For whatever reason, England sometimes rolls in non-expansion mode and never founds a second city. Egypt has also neglected to expand. On the plus side, Spain has been pretty successful.

I really enjoy your map and I am anticipating the next release ;-)

A small sidenote though, would it be possible to enable "Quick Combat"? I really got used to it and the regular combat seems sooooo slow now :-/

Thank you very much!

Dear Dark Jedi06

Why are there two Irelands?
By,the way thanks for the awesome map.
:thanx:

Truly yours,

Any news on post-patch update? It seems City States don't start correctly after the patch.

Great map BTW, IMHO the best earth map yet!

Working on a new version to be compatible with the newest patch.

The biggest thing right now is the larger minimum distance between cities, which really screws up Europe as well as many city states. If I can't adequately balance the map to function with 3 tile minimum distance, I will simply mod it back to what it was pre-patch.

Other then that, still continuing to tweak things so that the map works well with Spain, Inca, Aztecs, Iroquois and America in the game (what I was doing a couple of months ago). Also, still considering whether or not to include a version with Polynesia in it. When all is said and done, there will be two versions of LEM; one with DLC and on without. The version with DLC will be the first one uploaded and will be taking the bulk of my attention.

Oh yeah, and I get to add in atolls! :D

Current play through after a myriad of tweaks has been quite successful. :)

I'm playing as the British. Things were slow to start off and I was in the middle of the scoreboard for awhile, but after my invasion of Amsterdam things started to turn around. Defeating the Dutch completed a quest for Helsinki and since I was already allied with Oslo, this gave me control of both of Europe's maritime city states. I then proceeded to shoot up vertically, growing my 4 core cities before I struck out to the New World with Astronomy.

I settled in Cuba, then simultaneously conquered the Maya at Tikal and planted another city in Panama (though I forgot cities can't act as canals in Civ V, so much for a quicker route to China! :(). I then declared war on the Aztecs, hoping to swiftly take Tenochtitlan, which is isolated from the rest of his empire, which strangely enough is in Canada/Newfoundland. However, the native savages somehow managed to procure a cannon and that killed my advance. :mischief:

Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure Europe is just a ticking time bomb...Spain, France and Germany are all evenly matched and I fully expect a World War to commence with the coming of the Industrial Age. Of course if it doesn't, then I will I have to orchestrate it myself. :king: I intend to strike out at Germany with the advent of flight, Berlin is just such a juicy target. :D

is it incan empire who controls the whole south america?

Yes, Spain and the Incas are all included in this version. They were about 25 points ahead of me, but now they're in second. I've yet to successfully nerf them...what I really need is a Mayan DLC to balance out South America.

Dear Dark_Jedi06,

I might suggest that you put another separate version with the Incas,Aztecs, Iroquois, and the US, so that it wont affect the original version.
Other Suggestions:
-Add the Vikings as a playable civ.
-Keep being Awesome
-Move Iceland, so that it won't look like another Ireland.
-Did I mention to keep being awesome?
-What would happen If Antartica was colonisable and it had a ton of oil?
-Be more Awesome

Your Friend,
HisAwesomeness

P.S.
Viva la Canada

There will be a separate version for DLC, however that one will be released first (because honestly its a lot more fun :p). If/when the Vikings are added by Firaxis, they will be added to my map; the current quality of custom civilizations is not up to my standards as to be included in the map.

I can already confirm in the current version that Iceland has been moved, in addition Greenland was made open to colonization but Antarctica will not be as that is not really that realistic (see: Wikipedia).

Thank you for the compliments, I'm glad you've enjoyed the map. Expect the new version by the end of the week! :)

they can.
maybe there're some more (and strange) conditions for a city to act as canal, but i (ab)used it a lot.

Really? Maybe it was because the city was on a hill...

I've updated the first post and v6 is on the way. :)
