Legendary Earth Mod (LEM)

Adding city-states to Europe is tricky because its so crowded already. I remembered a couple South American city-states I had already made and added them to the map.

The next version I'll be playing has Quebec City added to North America, and Manaus and Nazca to South America. I've also placed Valletta on a tiny island in the Mediterranean and added Bucharest to Europe.

We will see how things play out, thank you all for your continued input. :)

EDIT:

Here's how another first 120 turns played out, with me playing as England:

The scores are pretty balanced and I like the patterns of expansion. I love it how each playthrough on this map is totally unique, even though the map remains the same. For example, Japan conducted an epic invasion of the Chinese mainland and conquered Shanghai! I think I'm pleased enough with this version for now to release it to you guys for testing.

I'm now going to start work on the alternate version with different civs, and I think you can expect both to be released as a beta on Sunday night.

That playthrough looked alot more realistic. It seems Sweden actually placed helsinki in (around) the correct geographic location, which is pretty cool. I'm starting to think you could possibly disclude the huns in favour of a more important civ, like carthage, persia, the aztecs, korea, ect.

And I really suggest you include warsaw. The historic significance of it is extremely important, it had been bullied for centuries by russia, austria, and eventually germany. It's not too in the way, and it marks the border between russia and germany.

Either way, I cant wait till tonight, I'm gonna play a diety, marathon game as england. Should be interesting.

I play tested the alternate version and things looked pretty good there too (it was easier since only a few civs changed). I will definitely be releasing it tonight, which means you can expect it up at like midnight EST.

I have to figure out my way around the Steam Workshop and get some images together with a description as well as things like the Readme and Version History files.

Once its out, please post your experiences here with images so we can continue the process of balancing everything out!

Strait off the bat i noticed a problem. You can choose the game pace, but no matter what it will just end up being standard when you start the game. I've had many long and fun marathon games on this map, so I'de like to know if theirs a solution to this

You have to edit the map in the World Builder to change the game pace.

I noticed that all civs have set their difficulty to Prince. AFAIK this means that the AI will play at Prince level, where normally it plays on Chieftain. This will make the game quite easy, even on Deity.

Hi!

This looks awesome and i played for a while then saved and when i tried to load it said i don have all the mods installed... ? Confused.

It's an issue with the "MinCompatibleSaveVersion", if you change it to 1 in the .modinfo file it will work.

I too got the loadgame error. But while the game lasted, it was pretty interesting. Heres a screen of the known world according to ancient england:

Or not.

Edit: How does one open the mod info file? I know how to find it but It says I dont have the correct program to do so.
Re-edit: Oh ok I tried opening it with notepad and it worked. Changed the value from 11 to 1. Lets try this again.

Okay, so the MinCompatibleSaveVersion issue is an artifact from the vanilla mod and will be an easy fix. I gave the mod a new ID and reset the version to 1 but I didn't realize I had to change the other thing as well (11 was the last version of the original mod so it makes sense that that is what it says in the ModInfo file).

Also, I will reset all of the AI back down to Chieftain. I wasn't aware that had any effect on how they actually played and I really have no idea why I developed the habit of switching them all to Prince.

Can anyone confirm that the game pace CANNOT be changed via the in-game menu? And if that's the case, is there a fix? I don't recall this ever being an issue in the past...

@Ghonasiflaid are you sure you're selecting your game speed AFTER ticking the load scenario button? Otherwise, it will revert to the maps standard settings if you select your options before ticking load scenario...

Anything else that needs to be fixed? A fix will be released tonight once I'm home...thank you all for your feedback and bearing with me on the release! :)

Yes, I 100% confirm the game pace can't be changed unless using map editor. The load game problem is a very easy fix on your part, you just accidently wrote 11 instead of 1 in a script.

Files have been updated on the Steam Workshop. Saves should now be loadable (at least from here on out), unfortunately I'm still looking for a way for game speed to be changed from in-game.
