Let your fingers do the flying

See the hospital there in theory I mean :) I was born in there, really, I'm a Cornishman.

Me too (on both counts)! Although the theoretical hospital (Treliske I assume?) is way off to the right...

According to my Birth certificate it was called: The Royal Cornwall Hospital(maternity), Truro. Probably the same place if it only has one hospital.

Yeah, thats the place. Treliske is where its located, so thats what everyone calls it.

1 on my hometown, Portsmouth Dockyard,I suspect that photo is actually super imposed though, because there are a suspiciously huge number of ships in dock, it's almost as if the navy has recalled the entire fleet, when I was there usually there were never that many in port. Must of been some special navy celebration or it's a complete fabrication more likely, no way they let people take photos in there any way, they probably told google not to put something real up in case terrorists used it to plant bombs or whatever.

You can see my house on Google Earth. I won't post it, though, I don't like stalkers. ;)

It always fun wandering around cities with the Google Earth Community layer turned on. Some really weird things out there.

And if you want to see something strange, then enter this into Google Earth: 49.2503, -122.7096 and rotate left and zoom in a little bit.

Another fun game is to enter a random set of coordinates and see where it takes you.

Someone has posted info on all the speed camera locations in Britain!

Ummm... pwned?

The only program where you can see your house from the sky, and then follow the path of the Amazon river with another mouseclick. :)

I am a loyal fanatic of Civilization, Wikipedia, and Google Earth. "JIHAD!"

I was surprised at the detail in Washington DC. I was able to fly, at a height of about 3 meters, over most of the area. And unlike maps.google.com where you click on the satellite and get the overhead, DC isn't 'blacked out'. I guess 'white out' would be a more accurate term.

Also, Indiana is surpisingly detailed. All of it.

If you turn on "3D Buildings" in one of the panels Washington D.C. looks awesome.

Oh, BTW: If you start Google Earth, and zoom all the way in, you zoom to Lawrence, KS. About a half-mile from where I lived when I first moved here. I was rather surprised to find that out.

Yeah, I did that. Tried to 'fly' around the buildings.

3D buildings is awesome. I just wish Canadian cities had 3D buildings. I love turning it on and flying around cities looking at all the buildings.

And, pray tell, why were they not on the Queen's honour list this year? :gripe:

Because it was the Queen's honor list. If it was the bloke down at the pub, it would have made it!

Cha right! I find it hard to believe that the Queen doesn't enjoy bombing it down the motorway in her souped up little MG convertible. In fact, many times she has been spotted in such a situation; with Phil on one side, corgis in the back, peddle to the metal, the air through her tiara and not a care in the world (especially not for speed cameras!) Such a woman should not be overlooking the passions and contributions that this man has made to the pleasures of other British rubber burners. I say give him an OBE!

EDIT: :salute:

That brings me to the question..... If the queen is caught speeding on her own motorway, does she have to pay herself? :crazyeye:
