No one knows the history between the 6th and 8th century, because it isn't recorded down.

The first recorded polish king, Miesko was recorded because he converted Poland to Christanity which grabbed the eye of the pope.

I'd be okay with that.. if they didn't call it *Ethiopia*. There are plenty other names of the old kingdoms they could have used.

Stop pretending Ethiopia is at all significant. I say with 100% certainty that if Ethiopia was located in Europe, it would never have even been looked at.

First off, if Ethiopia was located in Europe, it would have been so huge that everyone would look at it first.

Second, Ethiopia is practically Biblical civilization and also happens to be one of the oldest Christian civilizations.

Third, Ethiopia is one of the very few non-white civilizations that kicked white ass in the Age of Imperialism.

I personally rather have Swahili in instead of Nubia. But i'd prefer ethiopia over both.

Eh. Your third point is the only thing that might POSSIBLY justify its inclusion, but even that is pretty weak.

3) Oh please, that's so overblown it's hilarious. Has it ever occured to you that Ethiopians "resisted" well because the worthless dirt they lived on didn't interest the Europeans that much. To say nothing of the diseases.

More than Ethiopia's ever done. I mean seriously, one of the oldest Christian nations? And yet have they ever contributed historically through Christianity for better or worse like Byzantium, Russia and Europe? Nope!
Oh yeah well apart from making up idiotic stories about possessing holy artifacts that they'll never, ever present for close scrutiny. :rolleyes:

There is no point in debating this any more. The problem with a value judgment is that it inherently reflects the individual's mores and morals. Of course you're going to tick some people off no matter what you do. If I made Civ 4, there would be no HRE, and Israel would've been included.... the Praetorian would've been called the Legionary, the Navy SEAL would be the U.S. Marine... the main menu also would've had a better opening song. All I can say, once again, is that we didn't make Civ, so we'll have to...

When i was at school in canada, and when i said i was polish, PEOPLE CALLED ME a nazi. i know how it feels.

1) If Ethiopia was in Europe, it would have been surronded by fertile ground instead of desert and would have expanded to dominate much of Europe.

2) This gives Ethiopia a very important historical significance. It also shows they survived the muslim expansion that didn't give . .. .. .. . about how good soil is.

3) The Ethiopian highlands has very fertile soil that gives birth to the Nile. The dirt is also rich in natural resources including gold.
