Kind of, yeah. But if I say something that is actually really foul in a language I don't speak, I am not swearing. If I consider "bull feathers" to be profanity, and go around saying it, I am swearing.
But my intent in saying "fetch" versus its better known cousin isn't the same - I am making an effort not to say a word that is widely considered a swear word, which is what makes the difference.
BG is doing the same thing as some here has done before. They are trying way to get around the filter. They know they can't get by as easily using the real word so they use one as close as possible to it. So yeah, I don't like BG cheap trick. It's as if it is their religion to use profanity.So then we're back on the intent, right? It's not the actual word that is the curse, it's the intent. When they're saying "Mother fracker" in Battlestar Galactica, they might not be saying the real deal, but since their intent is the exact same, it is as bad as the real deal.
