My grandpa always said profanity was either the mark of an uneducated mind or a lazy mind.
Yep, it's far better (and more insulting) to say "I would have a battle of wits, but I refuse to fight an unarmed man".
From what I heard and saw, if someone calls another person a name that's a swear word, the person that is insulted seems to get madder than a person being insulted with normal vocabulary.
I think that would really get you the beat up of your life![]()
Which is exactly what makes a "controlled tongue" more powerful and useful. It's gives you the ability to get your point across without insulting the person you are talking to. Insulting the other person is just throwing more fuel on the fire. From what I heard and saw, if someone calls another person a name that's a swear word, the person that is insulted seems to get madder than a person being insulted with normal vocabulary.
It makes me look stupid, or at at least lacking class...but sometimes I just can't help it.
I swear but I think its wrong....most of the time.
In the Army swearing is almost a job pre-requisite. Being a Christian in the Army means you end up being conflicted about it.
I do find Battlestar Galactica's very creative way to swear without being picked up by sensors
"Frackin' Fracker! You mother Fracker!
So Christians have restrictions not only about using God's name in vain, but about other curse words too?
Its considered profanity or profane speech....which in turn is not condusive to righteousness or godliness.
