Light In The East: Civs Of The Orient(And Beyond)

Well I got a WLTK for 5 turns after building a faith building so that's definitely fixed, but I can't tell if I'm getting any production from fresh water tiles.

The Egypt (Hapshepsut) mod no longer seems to be available via Steam or the direct download on page 1. Is it possible to put this mod online again?

Hapshepsut is a. JFD's, not LITE's and b. Broken, so no.

Not sure if these civs still get updated, but I have some bugreports and/or thoughts on them... perhaps useful in case there's an update-round. Attached the logs.

Sri Lanka:
- I applied the patch on page 103 of this thread, but still bugs show up:
- UA: Was next to lakes but no production bonus on faith or culture buildings.
- UB Vatadage: There's no effect visible for faster border expansion (e.g. not in city screen in number of turns) when completing faith building (e.g. temple)
- UU Balata: Heals automatically, even when not instructed to. Heals only 20 in enemy territory, 30 in neutral
- Decision Legalize Multilingualism: Can be enacted already upon founding pantheon (instead of having 2 religions). Only happiness on library, no culture.

The Ainu:
- Doesn't install automatically via Steam but needs manual installing.
- UU Matagi Archer: Is described as "weaker but faster", but has same stats as regular archer
- UA: When settler is captured it doens't provide yields. Also, the 'gold' yield feels a bit off, perhaps a 'faith' yield would make more sense thematically?
- UB Heper Set: not possible to found domestic trade routes anymore

Safavids:
- UB Karkhane: Has 2 (?) specialist slots, not sure if intended since nowhere mentioned.
- UU Qizilbash: Has 6 movement, is this intended?
- Decision Send Emissaries: Also works when just 2 city-states friendly (but also 2 others allied). However, influence only goes to 60 so next turn you lose ally-status already. Why not a flat influence bonus of 40 or 50?
- UA: When declaring friendship in AI's turn, there's a gap of 1 turn before effect actually of +5% culture kicks in. Also, the +5% culture is on a city-level, so if you have a city with 17 culture (but globally 62) you see no +5% effect. Would be better to link the +5% culture bonus to global value.

Ptolemies (Cleopatra):
UU: Galatian Guard: doesn't need iron?
UB Emporion: Many bugs. Already got bonus in city without even having internal trade route. In the capital and after reloading after having built the emporion the city screen is screwed up (only had 2 outgoing trade routes from capital). The building window is messed up, seems like buildings don't fit the window anymore/window doesn't expand anymore. Concerning yields, only production value is visible, the rest is blank. A couple of turns later things looked restored, possibly because new building was built? Bugs feel very random.
UA: Impossible to track the 5% per embassy bonus, but couldn't see any effect with 5 embassies. Also, only 5% of an unknown yield might be bit underwhelming. When declaring friendship in AI turn, there is no unit- or culture bonus. (not sure if even working at all)

Hope this helps and can be put to good use!

Sri Lanka has fixes somewhere; dunno how comprehensive they were, or whether anyone but @Skaz881 has them. Otherwise, Skaz has repeatedly tried to get me to fix Worst Ptolmey, which I might do at some point. Tl;dr I would but Civ 6 is fun :p

I'll try to post my copy of the Lua and see if that helps. Take your time Chrisy, I'm just happy I'm not the only one that wants to see beautiful Civ 5 Cleopatra in action.

I've incorporated all earlier posted Sri Lanka fixes and added few other updates/fixes to this version. Posting here for whoever wants to use:

Fixes:

UA:
- Fixed production bonus for worked tiles next to fresh water
- The WLTKD now lasts 5 turns instead of 4 (when finishing a faith building)
- Added JFDLC religious buildings

UB Vatadage:
- Production costs now similar to shrine
- Added JFDLC religious buildings
- Updated logic on border expansion to reference culture yield per turn instead of culture stored (since otherwise border expansion too agressive and not in line with design)

UU Balata:
- Updated logic to heal 3x normal heal ability on river tile (as oposed to fixed value)

Decisions:
- Legalize official use of Multilingualism now only enactable after having 2 religions (previously already after pantheon)
- Legalize official use of Multilingualism now includes Observatory and Research Institute (EE)
- Updated Decision format

Other:
- Updated various texts

Also a few updates/fixes for The Safavids:

UA:
- Raised (local) culture per turn bonus from DoF from 5% to 10%, since otherwise too insignificant (e.g. when city would already produce 19 culture you would get no bonus with just 1 DoF (5%)).

UB Karkhane:
- Reduced number of specialist slots from 2 to 1, to stay in line with Workshop.

UU Qizilbash:
- Reduced movement points from 6 to 4, to stay in line with Lancer.

Decisions:
- Renamed 'Send Emissaries' to 'Rally our Friends!' since name too similar to other JFDLC decision on emissaries.
- Fixed 'Send Emissaries' / 'Rally our Friends!' so that it becomes enactable when 3 city-states are friendly (used to be when only 2 city-states are friendly/allied)
- Changed result from 'Send Emissaries' / 'Rally our Friends!' to provide 50 Influence instead of setting Influence level at 60 (since otherwise you would just be allied 1 turn)
- Updated Decision format

Other:
- Culture now set as Iranian
- Updated various texts

You're doing god's work, sir, bravo. The Safavids were one of my favorite civs, I'm ecstatic to see it updated to modern compatibility. There isn't any chance I could convince you to make a compatibility update to Mexico under Benito Juarez btw, is there? ;)

Glad you enjoy it. There is actually. There are several outdated civs that I would love to see updated myself, Mexico being one of them. As it doesn't seem that the original authors will still do so, I'm taking a stab at it myself. I'm not an expert modder, but with spending a bit of time analyzing the mod and author's intentions, it's actually not so difficult to find the rootcauses for bugs and what needs changing/updating.

I'm currently looking at Cleopatra for which especially adding MCIS for the UA will be more challenging, but when done I can look at Mexico. Do you have a list of issues for it? Also, I see it doesn't have E&D support, so if you have suggestions for (easy-moddable) relevant decisions, I can see if I can add this.

I can only tell you what I've seen going thru the Steam comments, but here's what I've collated in terms of bugs:
-"I like this mod but there's an apparent error in the Nezahualcoyotl XML file that causes the city name to display incorrectly. I have been unsuccessful in editing the file. (There's a space after the city name and before the " symbol that's not there in the other cities."
-"From time to time all your gold will be eliminated."
-Reports of the Hacienda textures glitching out (may just be due to using Dx9) or the Hacienda being missing entirely

In terms of E&D ideas, I think the two pretty defining options for his era would be La Reforma, which could maybe give one or two free Social Policies in return for a hefty gold sum, and the French Intervention, which might be a bit more tricky but could be very fun, switching the leaderhead to Emperor Maximilian with a big culture or science boost, but with increased unhappiness, and the option to change it back to Juarez afterwards to reflect the Franco-Mexican War. I've seen other mods change leaderheads before so it should be possible, but if its too complex let me know.

Thanks, will look at this. Not sure how easy this will be (textures glitching out may be out of my league) but will see what I can do!

Updates/fixes for The Ptolemies (Cleopatra) for those interested:

UB Emporion:
- Fixed crashing city view & Internal trade routes to city (the dummy buildings did not have GreatWorkCount -1)
- Slightly raised Gold from Internal trade route

UU Galatian Guard:
- Now requires Iron, to stay in line with Swordsman.
- Fixed logic so that you now do get Culture when disbanding. Also raised the Experience-to-Culture ratio to 1:1 (instead of 0.66).

Decisions:
- 'Employ Foreign Troops' fixed to only be enactable twice now as intended.
- 'Employ Foreign Troops' now supports EE by having included the Line Infantry.
- Updated Decision format

I was intending to add MCIS to show the yields per embassy, but unfortunately have not been able to pull it off yet. In particular I'm struggling to actually get the pop-up (tooltip?) when hovering over the new button I added via MCIS. Could this be due to which files I create/use for this and/or how I reference them in Modinfo? Any help/advise on this would be much appreciated!!

Also saw some reports about the embassy yields being off but without above it's difficult to actually see what happens in game and what should be adjusted.
