Oh it could be Persian. I remember there was a plan to split Persia into Cyrus and Darius so maybe that could be one of their UAs.

Yup, the plan is to retain that ability or increase the range by 1 and make it an expensive unit and more powerful as well.

I'm starting to get back into the swing of modding again and am doubling down on all my planned civs, so I was wondering if you guys would perhaps be interested in collaborating on Bhutan with me. I've got a design (though it's very open to modification), and almost all of the art and XML is done. What I really need is lua, pedias, and E&D support. Here's the design as it stands:

Bhutan (Jigme Singye Wangchuck)
Start Bias: Hills
Capital: Thimphu
Unique Ability: Druk Tsendhen
20% of excess Happiness is converted into Faith, increased to 40% with the discovery of Theology. Upon declaring Friendship, Bhutan and their friend gain +1 Happiness.
Unique Unit: Dapon (Replaces Archer)
Provides a combat bonus to adjacent Ranged units, may move immediately after purchase, and never goes obsolete, unlike the Archer it replaces.
Unique Improvement: Dzong
Unlocked with Chivalry. May only be built on Hills, and not next to another Dzong. +1 Culture, +1 Faith, and 50% Defense for units stationed in the Dzong, with all of those yields doubled (including defense) if next to a Mountain.

And as a reminder/re-hype-r, here's Jigme's leaderhead from quite some time ago, one that I'm quite proud of.

Light in the East has accepted to take over Ryukyu, and we are collaborating with More Civs on the Nabateans and Saba. Many thanks to Hiram, the author of these civs for giving us the privilege of using them.

You are also free to give us ideas for redesigns and such for the three civs I mentioned, since we are all kind of short on those.

It has taken you truly a long time but I'm happy to welcome you back to modding , I like the design while it may not be exactly in my warmongering tastes its still solid.

But anyway, I made a Ryukyu redesign a few months ago:

Leader: Sho Shin

UA: The Three Mountains: Ryukyu and their ally gain an extra Trade route upon making a Declaration of Friendship. Gain 10% more Science from science agreements for each Trade route you have with the other civ.

UGP: Yukatchu: Replaces Great Scientist. Upon being expending, gain a sum of Culture that is directly proportional to the total Culture per turn of all civs that have a Declaration of Friendship with you.

UB Gusuku: Replaces Castle. One Scientist Specialist slot. All Scientist Specialists in this city yield +2 Culture.

The Ryukyu Kingdom had a profitable trade agreement with the Chinese (I think it was the Ming Dynasty but I could be wrong). Ryukyu scholar bureaucrats were all Chinese or of Chinese descent. These Chinese scholars assisted the Ryukyu with technology, diplomacy, government and culture. The bureaucrats were called Yukatchu and also passed reforms to introduce aspects of Chinese government and culture in the Ryukyu Kingdom.

It's kind of rough but it's a start.
