LINESII- Into the Darkness- Part II

to Zemora
From Adar

Their will be a union between our people's, no more will their be divisions between us, we shall become one.
so lay down your arms and we shall treat you as brothers, those who take up the sword against us we shall honour as warriors... but they will die as warriors.
No mercy for those who resist the unity and peace we bring.
Only if we are allowed to continue practicing our religion, and if you end your vendetta agaisnt the well-meaning Citadel.

If we are to join you, it will be a merger of equals, not a conquest.

Greetings, people of the south! May we send scholars to your peoples, so that we can grow closer together and benefit from each other?
From: Guarela
That would be appreciated.
From: Rozan
You don't have contact with us yet.
From: Destre
Thanks! But how can you get to us?

I have scholars in Guangfei--so shouldn't I know about/be able to access Rozan and Destre?

Also, answer my PM!

OOC: Guangfei doesn't have contact with Rozan and those other states in LB's direction. PM will be sent shortly iggy ;)

From Guangfei

We dearly hope that you will not repeat the mistake of Trinlin, your predecessor state in the geographical area you rule over, in invading Guangfei. We wish for peaceful trading relations and to this end we offer Magland a 200 Years Peace (NAP for 200 years).

the update said:
To the south, the Trinlinist nation of Rozan has arisen. Little contact has been made so far, but the people seem to be friendly enough- though not open to conversion.
This is in your section--sounds like you have some contact. And my point was that I have scholars based there, so they should have spread out throughout the region. They certainly have contact with Magland, so they should have contact with Destre.

OOC: My apologies, thought Rozan was a country in LB's direction. Never said anything about Destre though :p

We would not be as foolish as our predecessors (don't worry, we likely know more than you on Trinlin, they occupied us for over a century) to attack the Dragon Throne. We graciously accept your NAP, and hope that the peace lasts far longer than that.

@JD- Well, you may be able to get connections, but they will be very tenuous.

OOC: Back towards the end of the last thread, you said the cycles of visitation of the Divotheist gods was 287 years. With this update, more than 287 years have passed since the last time they visited, even assuming they visited just before the Western civilizations discovered the East. Shouldn't this cause a massive crisis of faith among Divotheists? Or did something big happen you're not telling us about?

Interesting that you would say that...well, I'll leave it for later. ;)

Well, I think that I'll write some more stories. That was an excellent update, Iggy. I'm very satisfied.

Clearly, you are animals in human skin. However, if you leave New Veritas now we will permit you to withdraw alive, and will even recognize Sintonia as independent, at the original borders of their rebellion. If you refuse these generous terms, we will have no recourse but to destroy you as we destroyed the Eldranians.

For truly, you are far less noble than they.

OOC: Eldranians, noble? Relatively speaking on a terrible scale maybe. :p And really, this update has been very inspiring for stories :D

Of course the Eldranians were noble. They stuck to their beliefs to the last. Ironically, the one Eldranian to survive was a coward...and look what he founded. :p

Which brings me to a PoD: what if the captured Eldranian boy (see update 9) had suceeded in killing Strategius? How would the world be different today?

@Thlayli: don't try to get all mysterious on me. If we have a contest of secret knowledge, I'd win. :D

The last festival of the gods took place in 1448. And only the priests get to make pilgrimages to the peaks of the mountains to greet them. The rest of the people just get to throw the party of their lifetimes and listen to the stories.

Oh, so they come from inland? I thought they came from across the sea...

Only time will tell. ;) (about the secret knowledge thing)

Well, for one, Eldrania would still have fallen, but slower and more painfully, inflicting more casualties. The Eldranian people were destroyed, so Veritas couldn't exactly destroy them more...but I suppose they (I) might have taken more time rebuilding from the war's damages, thus delaying/preventing the invasion of Khemri under Sempronius and causing all sorts of stuff to happen.

Like, a cold war between the CRA and Veritas/Davar, with Mogul torn apart by both sides in the middle. And, Veritas would have had armies free to aid Emor during the original Bladeist invasion, probably.

I'd also assume we would have had time to wipe out the Nkondi...would that have made the Lengel invasion better or worse?

Maybe given Kal a chance to crush the Kehex rebellion then attack Veritas before it could guarantee its survival with the Exarchates (New Veritas, Norvalin, etc)

@JD- It would have made the Lengels even more vulnerable to anti-cavalry.

Well, I was supplying the Kehex rebellion from pretty early on, so I'm not sure.

See above "cold war" speculations. And Emor wouldn't have become twisted and traitorous.
