List of Mac-compatible MODs

Keinpferd, you said you were interested, so I uploaded my modded version of Pie's Ancient Europe. It's got some minor modifications in text and mostly it's got new unit art, new specific types for Iberians and Numids&Berbers, mostly from IR, which brings the mod to a 200mb weight. It's all for now, I might add some more city artstyle. Bring your suggestions if you have any.
I mean no offense to the mod maker, I just added some eye-candy. :scan:

Here's the link : >> Pie's Ancient Europe Modified <<

Phantastic Taneda:thumbsup:, downloading! They will surely take no offense, they both know how much we like their work. So I'm really looking forward to Taneda's Ancient Europe with some preliminary work of what was the name of that guy, again, Paul, Pete;)? Is it okay if I put a link in the german Civ forum? By the way, 200mb you say, the download is only 97mb?
Cheers, Keinpferd!

Do as you wish, but don't forget to give proper credit (To Pie, not me ... :p )
97mb is the archived version, it doubles when you extract it.
And I'm eager to have your suggestions and comment, I made some rather arbitrary choices : early romans have a more Etruscan type spearman, their late cavalry is more of a Tarentinian Cavalry type, I got rid of the silly "legion" look of late spearmen and archers, both had lorrica segmentata, which was, from a global point of view, rather scarce in roman military, and also, the romans never relied heavily on archers or spearmen, except as auxiliaries, so I gave them a lower standing appearance.
I also added animated leader heads, hehe, I forgot to mention...

If this thread is meant to list modded mods that work on the mac, too, we're having a reason to say, yes Tanedas version of Pie's Ancient Europe works perfectly well:clap:, but maybe we should move the discussion over to Pie's thread or you start a new one in the Mac area? (First new skin I noticed was the peasant militia looking shortbowman, very nice, from Imperium Romanum?)

:D
you've worked hard! what are you doing when I change the python code again? ... oh ... my mistake: you just need to replace the python file... hehe...

ok then, this looks great, but I have some suggestions:
-) the classical roman archer was fine :( .. this one looks like an Amish (although you're right, when you say, the romans did not really have roman bowmen)
-) brennus should still be brennus and not Arminius. Arminius should be Ragnar too. Or is there another Viking leaderhead at the fanatics?!
-) some units have a chain mail or even a chain/steel helmet. this looks to medieval for me.

So I let the tiny version of 18 mb as it is while we can put your 97mb version into the thread too (with your special credit of course).

If anyone cares......

I already changed it, the amish will stay for early era but I chose a new look for classical times : looks more like an auxiliary archer, with Lorica squamata and helmet. Only little thing bothering me : he has a pretty long bow... :crazyeye:

Yea, I can get some new leaderheads, there is a dedicated Arminius head around, like Brennus, but more grey with a wolf skin on his head. I will also change some others.
But I like Brennus with a more Celtic look ! :p

I already modified some out of place units : replaced the greco-roman horse-archer with something lighter. But for the late swordsman, I kept it as is for western civs, and got some makedonian Hypaspistai for Greeks, and some ptolemaic Hypaspistai for eastern/Carthage civs. I also changed the early axe warrior to something less barbarian.

And you can put this modified version for download if you want, it's your mod after all ! ;) (I will soon upload an updated version. 10days maybe.)

Hi,

Is there a Mac compatible version of the DCM and Revolution mods available? Or are there any plans to make Mac versions? When I had my Windows computer, these were two of the best mods IMO. Now that I've switched over to Mac, I feel my gaming experience isn't the same without them.

Both are sadly impossible to convert to Mac. They use custom DLL and Mac BTS cannot read these.

Has anyone got the ActualQuotes mod working with BTS? It throws XML errors when loading the game and then spews out garbage text in-game. I've also got some crazy graphics gremlins (Gilgamesh only has hair, no face or body, others have floating eyeballs etc) but I think those might be due to the Attitude Icons mod.

It just needs to have some text encodings fixed. Both the mods in my signature have it included but if you want it just by itself I can separate it out for you.

The graphics problems you are seeing are almost certainly caused by having antialiasing set to anything higher than 0. This is an issue with BTS on Mac. You're also likely to see such things if running Windows BTS under emulation. The only fix is to set antialiasing to 0 (in Graphic Options).

This ww2 in the pacific mod/scenario for BTS has been working for me quite well.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5182

It was the first mod I downloaded and luckily it worked. The war in the pacific and and sengoku scenarios were my favorites from civ 3 and unfortunately I have been unable to get any any of the numerous samurai themed scenarios I've tried for civ4 to work. If anyone has any luck or advice about getting a samurai themed scenario to work I'd appreciate it. The sengoku was by far my favorite in civ3.

That's odd, after reading this thread further it seems noone else could get it to work, and it contains a cvgamecore.dll file. I've only run it for a few turns, but it seems fully functional and doesnt give me any of the the various errors upon restart/mod loading. Perhaps because I'm loading it in BTS? I'll run it for a few more turns to see if I get any errors or find missing aspects of the game.

I could open it, too, have no time to further test it, but everything seems okay:).

Someone might have already asked this question, but i guess it doesn't hurt for me to to ask!!!! for mac version BTS 3.19, is there a Mod or a way to have 18+ civs (preferably all 34 civs) playing @ once???

18 is the absolute maximum for Mac BTS, there is no way around this.
