I agree. I think that "RPG" carries a negative connotation to the general public.

Or at least to a lot of the CivFanatics public....

I like the suggestion of IAAR, because of the neutral connotations, reasonable acronym for the kind of thread we are talking about, and the small number of characters.

The problem with IAAR is the meaning isn't going to be immediately obvious for newcomers. It took me months before I figured out what AAR meant.
