[GS] Livestreamer Previews Discussion Thread

In PotatoMcWhiskeys Maori video he said he would have been able to circumvent the world in the Ancient era, that would be something. Also on turn 42 his Quadrireme encountered a barb galley, then on turn 43 another 2 appear. I've never seen that many barb ships at the same time, i've only every seen 1 at a time.

I also mentioned in an earlier post that Potato found 4 city states in his first 8 turns, well it turns out he added more city states to the map so that more than likely played a factor in founding that many city states extremely early.

I just hope that it doesn't rule out the potential for third alt leader for England and France, Liz I and Louis XIV

Russia looks bleak and cold without Lavra GPP's, and with blizzards!

Did they actually nerf that? Good riddance, I always hated stocking up on those damn Great Writers so early without anywhere to put them in (and for the record, I never ever sell works because that helps other achieve Cultural Victory faster)

The current splash screen also doesn't mention the great people points on the Lavra. So it's probably a false alarm.

Not confirmed. The tooltip doesn’t mention the GPPs, but that’s the case in RnF as well. GPP was kinda a last minute addition to Russia in Vanilla, so I can see how the tooltip remained outdated all this time.

No mention of Great People points in the description, so it seems the only logical explanation

Edit: Actually, it may not be confirmed, as people are saying

I was wondering about this wording earlier: what exactly does this mean?

  • you get 2 for every copy? or is it capped?
  • what does reveal mean? Is fog of war still revealed? Or does reveal only mean you have the necessary tech
  • if it isn't just tech reveal: if another player improves the resource, do you lose the +2?
  • If you don't get it for resources you actually own and have improved, Hattusa doesn't seem to be that strong. Why don't you keep +2?

I've definitely seen a few barb ships together if there's a camp on a small island.

It's the same as before

Basically, you get +2 Iron, Horses, Oil whatever per turn for as LONG as you don't have an improved verison of it within your borders and know they exist, so if you are Suzerain of Hattusa, and get Iron Working, you will start geting +2 per turn, it's basically an updated version of their bonus.

It's just the equivalent of what was there in R&F. If you have the tech for a strategic resource, but not an improved source of it, you get. Just the mechanism is a bit different.

Thanks, I didn't play much R&F (disabled the ruleset after 3 or 4 games), so I didn't realize it was working like this already.

It's the base game's bonus to begin with :3.

Glad it's now actually useful, since you usually need +2 to get anything out of Strategic Resources in standard games, and now with +2 you can benefit from training your army without the worry of getitng heavy penalties.

Is it me, or the “second” Eleanor’s portrait seems to have a different color palette? For the top one, you can still discern the stripe of pink, which matches her flower headband from the leaked model. The bottom one, though - I don’t see it at all.

Wild theory: Eleanor will have two models/color schemes?

I imagine giving her at least 2 different clothing color schemes wouldn't be that hard for them to do, maybe even give her different heraldic symbols. Tho I would go nuts if she has a younger model for France and an older one for England. As for the differences in the model, the bottom portrait looks slightly different, with more yellow on the bottom.

He forgot to circumnavigate which was funny, he forgets lots of things but really makes up for it with the fast play and nice Irish accent.
He really should have dropped religion and pumped out 4 more settlers, buying a prophet seems crazy in comparison. You just have to have faith with yourself when Maori.

I am now keen more than ever to play them, I forgot about how much faith they can generate by doing very little.

Irish you say *looks him up, moves in with him, gets him to let me play*

Quill's also surprisingly absent-minded in his GS playthrough.

I often wonder how hard it is for people multi-tasking recording their voice over and playing a game, I find myself VERY frustrated because I'm all like "HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW THAT?" like A LOT.

Who do they think they are fooling? Surely they must know by now that we've known about her for months.

But they don't want to reveal her bonus(es) until her First Look.

One must stand by the mast when the ship goes down @AriochIV .. no abandoning ship, battle on regardless and all that, what what.

But repeats the obvious and known way too much. His level of enthusiasm exhausts me.
