So I am moving to a new apartment and will have to buy new sofa, chairs and tables etc. and am wondering how I might provide the best livingroom experience. I feel the space might become slightly cramped with only 3m from wall to wall in the corner I will use (not that I'm complaining coming from a tiny one-room). So which of these options do you think will be best?

1 and 2 are the most basic and I can probably get a cheaper sofa, the windows might be slightly blocked and depending on the table I get there might be little space to move. Also less seating space and if I put a chair there as well the placing might be slightly akward.

3 and 4 provide more space but will be more expensive and I don't particularly like the asymmetry and watching the TV slightly to the side. 4 will have the advantage of the TV being easy and quick to hook up to the PC.

Currently I'm leaning towards 3.

If you have a different solution you can draw it yourself on this if you feel like it:

1: Having the TV in front of the window makes for bad viewing experiences during the day, plus if you have blinds or curtains, they might be a pain to close. The couch is fine.

2: pretty much the same thing, except even harder to see the TV. :)

3: This one's good! Personally, I like the asymmetrical design.

4: This one's good too.

So, for me it's between 3 and 4. I like 3 because you have some window space compared to 4.

What would you be hooking the TV up to your computer for?

If the stuff is easy enough to move, you could shift between 3 and 4 depending on what you're doing.

I would use four, but have the chaise lounge run under the north (top) window instead of the east one. I'd also place the tv in the two position.

If you used #2, and then shifted the TV to the corner, you could maybe add another chair at about where the word Bedrooms is on the diagram.
