How is the America test doing?
How far along is the game?

The good news, we are past the worst test - all of the new units!
 
Good News - I finally got the Americans up to USMC and they are ready to build.

Bad News - When the first USMC is built I get the fopllowing error: Missiing Entry "text\PediaIcons.txt":Animname_ :cry:

Also I know you mentioned fixing some upgrade paths but just in case (and I am too lazy to go back and search for it).

Broken for PTW - Swordsmen to MInf, LongBow to Guerilla
 
Killer has 9G for the moment looking at the river situation.

I have Sword - Minf fixed, but will fix Longbow to Guerilla with 9H.

In the meantime, if you have time, you could do test #4 or #5.
A two or three civ test will be much faster.

HOLD OFF with test #2 until 9H is posted.

The good news is that 7 of 13 tests are completed. Killer is working on #12 at the moment.

To speed up test, play with just 2 civs!


2) USA test. With the loss of Jersey Joe, we never finished the testing of the USA changes.
Play the USA, probably with just the American continent civs to be quick.
Get to the point of marines - attack and verify a GA.
Stop after building your first regular jet fighter.

4) Diplomacy test with contact and Songhai
Play as a neighbor of the VERY AGRESSIVE Songhai, and verify Shaka animation in all 4 eras.

5) Diplomacy test with contact and Argentina
Play as a neighbor of Argentina, and verify Monty animation in all 4 eras.

8) Songhai Dyina test.
Make sure to build a horseman. Upgrade a unit to Dynia, built a Dynia and verify golden age.

12) On a river test.
As caught by Killer, 1.29 changed what is consider a river.
India was no longer on a river.
Start as *ALL* civs, right click starting square and verify +1 river bonus.
Start as the next civ.

13) New buildings test.
I added the new buildings that came with PTW: Commercial Dock, Stock Exchange, Civil Defense
I added the new wonder that came with PTW: The Internet
I fixed Wall Street to require 5 Stock exchanges.

Verify all buildings work, and the the Internet trips a GA.

I am backed!! It seems my PC's wiring connection is screwed up. :p So now I have a working PC again. :D

I will monitor this thread and wait for the latest edition to take part in the testing. :)
 
update: I compared the LK map with other, map generator maps. It tolds true for all tiles: diagonally from a river does give bonus except in the World map - what happened here?????

new starting pos look good so far, not many more to do. I decided to let the cities grow to size 7 though, as the +1 godl didn't always mean the city didn't need an aqueduct.

LK: all towns grew past 6, as did all other test towns I founded all over the place. Still, fixing a few rivers that will NOT change the look of the map. Will be done tomorrow.

It looks like I will have more time then I thought this week.

As soon as you post the .bix as 9H, I can get one of the playtest done.
 
Jeez, that one was a LOT of work since testing by playing was out and thus I had to tet by utrning terrain into desert, then see if it was changed to floodplain. But I got it all done except for some places where any river placement did irreversible damage to the river system. So some tiles between rivers still are NOT on the river :( but where possible they are fixed.

Most of the starts can be moved back, too (e.g. Brasilia).

You piece being move work then thought - seems on par for this version. 9 is the most complex of the upgrades - 2 civs at once, adding PTW features, and the terrain issues you found.

I reviewed the starting locations:
I fixed India back to original start point.
I left Germany where it is giving a coastal capital.
I moved France to give it a coastal capital.
I help Australia by clearing a couple of the initial jungles.
I added a river to help Persia, and gave them a few flood plains squares.
I hope I didn't create a monster, but I moved China to a river location.
Note: Brazil was not moved from the original location.

I fixed longbow to guerilla upgrade path.

The fundemantal problem with China is we need the Mongols in the game. Would you want to delay the game start to get them in?
My vote - at this point, why not?
We could be in the position of having a ton of choices for wm as soon as Songhai is done.
 
I will not start the game until these test are done - wm games take a hugh time commitment, as I don't want to waste a ton of time for a crashed game

If you can help with any, post which one you will test.

I could use some testing help. These will be a science cheated test. Expect a *VERY* fast tech game.

The following test PASSED
1) Songhai ICS test. Wrap until the capital name comes back.
3) Australia test. Play unit 1 Anzac is built.
6) Argetina ICS test.
7) Argentina Gaucho test. Wrap until the capital name comes back.
Make sure to build a knight. Upgrade knight to Gaucho, build a Gaucho, and verify golden age.
9) Argentina "junk" test. Play unit the modern age, and verify you don't get any uu for other countries.
10) Chinesse rider test. Play until you upgrade a rider to calvary.
11) India WE test. Play until you upgrade a WE to calvary.
12) On a river test. Version 1.29 changed what is consider a river, so adjust the rivers to offset the issue.
