Got it. Will see what I can get built. Don't know if we're researching education or waiting for it to come in via GL, but with uni, copes and bach's all soon, and nothing good left to build, I think it's time to do our own research.
Tatran said:Why Astronomy first? Music Theory is a cheap tech with a good wonder.
We also need Banking and maybe Economics. So we can still build a lot of turns dromons.
LKendter said:That is a good point. We may be able to delay Astronomy some. Bach's is still a good wonder to snag.
ARGGG - did you completely miss the discussion above of avoiding Astronomy so that we can keep building dromons? More dromons would have made it a lot easier to shut down invasions from the other continenent.Sanabas said:astronomy & cope's are only 8 turns away.
And astronomy means all our dromon builds have changed to caravels, I didn't notice, so all our caravel builds need to be changed.
For future reference I with prefer that you skip the turn, before submitting rushed moves.Gyathaar said:I was kinda rushing through this game so I can get back to LK101 so make sure you check the builds
Gyathaar said:Estimated Win date is now 1880AD
Sounds like it is time to do up another dotmap.Gyathaar said:Oops.. I finished playing before seeing this dotmap.. I didn't want to place a city on wines since they are a food source, so I placed a town one tile SE (I was considering settling on wines).. this means the green dot should be moved all the way out on the tip where it can grab whales instead I think
I am curious why. We aren't close to cavalry. Spending another 30 shields for one more defense point with muskets doesn't seem that good to me.Gyathaar said:Create a saltpeter colony on mountain
The 20K portion continues to do quite well. Now if we can also snag Smith's...Gyathaar said:Navigation comes in 4 turns, the palace build will reach the 400 shields for Magellan's in 6 turns.
1880AD is what Civassist says.. I didnt check it manually.. your year could be correctLKendter said:Why does my spreadsheet come up with 1874 AD?
Sorry.. I was building the cities on rivers and in 3 tile distances and I did go back far enough to see if you had dotmapped that area alreadyLKendter said:Sounds like it is time to do up another dotmap.
I don't know how I can react quicker on the dot maps. I was more worried about the tile being bombed, then gaining a food in a corrupted city. That section was really ugly to map to begin with.
The cities by Carthage also don't match the old dot map I had.![]()
Mainly because I wanted to give the AIs another target.. I think they will even attack full health armies on colonies.. just move the units off the mountain and let the AIs remove the colony I guess.LKendter said:I am curious why. Hurry the university in Constantinople, costs 64 gold.
This wasn't the only worker capture I saw. Are we working to close to the borders?Incas capture a worker. Incan horse dies to a knight.
Smuggler trade routes?LKendter said:Where is all this cash coming from?
Correct. It is such a waste if a city produces more than 10 shields per turnI assume this was a short rush to save a turn even though you don't saw so.
Don't worry,we are not missing anyone. This wasn't the only worker capture I saw. Are we working to close to the borders?
I always worry about cash rushes in AW, as that means science is slowing down. I have suffered to many several tech deficit games in AW. The good news is this isn't on of them the last time I looked.Tatran said:Seriously,I used the slider a lot.
Tatran said:Those universities and the marketplace
in Adrianople changed a lot.
With the nature of the variant we want to get to Newton's quickly. Just make sure the Smith's is complete first. If not, we could side track to Metallurgy first.Tatran said:No one is building a wonder at the moment, so Smith's should
be ours in the near future. Maybe after Economics our path should be Chemistry -> Physics -> Theory of Gravity.
And then focus on Military Tradition.
Agree that rails are critical. The difference is this game will see a push to rail the 20K city quickly.Tatran said:Also do we want to stay in a Monarchy or do we want to
change to Communism. If Nationalism is our free tech it could be an option, otherwise we have to research 2 dead-end techs. Steam Power has my no.1 priority.
