LK145 - Lee, your a PITA

Advisor: What are your plans now your highness?
Izzy: Leave me alone; I want to bask in the glory of our shrine to the gods.
Advisor: What about our empire?
Izzy: You can take care of it.

Current PITA order:
Turn on the governor in all cities on the inherited turn for production and citizen automation.
It is your choice for the other rows. No changing tiles worked or specialist selected. No putting addition items in the build queue.

-----------------------

Variant:
After each turn I will review the game and give a mandated order that can't be ignored. Many orders will be odd.
It expires at the end of your turn-set.
Failure to follow the PITA results in a really wacko order...

Remember about 15 peace (including phony wars) / about 10 heavy war turns per round. STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to complete.

Remember the use of the BUG mod is prohibited due to its destruction of the in game log. The use of BUG will result in your being ejected from the game.

Wow! Sorry I didn't even realize I was up having just played a few days ago. Our whole team it OoP and I have to add my name. I am away again until July 27th. Then I will be back briefly and could probably play a set before being sent back out August 1-8th.

Sorry, it's travel season at work combined with only being allowed to take vacation during the summer months.

With Dazedroyalty being added to the list of skips I have no choice but to put this game on temp hold.

I will wait for NoChildren to come back. After that I will need to wait for ZPVCSPLFUIFDPEF.

:bump:
Just so the game isn't forgotten about.

so, i just read up on what's happened since i was gone, and i would love to steal a city or two from good ol' ghandi while he is busy fighting ragnar.
I can't look at the save on this computer so i don't know what our military status is like, but given the PITA orders it doesn't seem like i can do much to change it.

turn225: switch on the governor in all cities. I'm curious who decided to cottage the tiles north of Seville, the city will be growing poorly, and as i see it it was better suited for production.

turn226: Cordoba completes catapult, decides to build library. Barcelona completes granary-->market. not at all the help with building military i was hoping for.

turn227: colossus BIDL. i notice that we aren't talking with ragnar, there goes my shortcut through his lands... also i learn that the governor uses the whip without asking first. [amsterdam finishes market-->courthouse (gah, idiot!:gripe:)]

turn 228: pericles adopts beaurucracy and starts research on feudalism. [this is a bit new to me, usually the AI goes after feudalism before CS. has this changed since the patch?]

turn 229: santiago finishes library--> granary

turn 230: i decide i have to declare on gandhi in order to not let ragnar get his hands on dehli.

turn 231: lose worker to forgotten gandhi axe near amsterdam.

turn 232: hindu missionary completes in seville--> market. santiago: granary-->barracks
i agree to this deal, although it's a bit late now.
Civ4ScreenShot0029-1.jpg

turn 233: buddhism spreads in argos. cordoba starts a worker after finishing it's library

turn 234: CS online--> metal casting [i feel that macemen might come in handy]
toledo finishes courthouse-->taoist temple [but whyyyy?]
the glorious city of dehli is liberated from the vile indians, and there was much rejoicing :woohoo:
Civ4ScreenShot0030-1.jpg

also i switch civics to beauracracy
turn 235: i take a chance hoping to take calcutta. it fails, but all that is left is a damaged archer so it should be quite easy. and since i don't want to take all the fun turns i end my set here.

gandhi is willing to make peace and i realise that i definetly missed the fact that ragnar and gandhi signed peace:blush: must have been in the end of the last turnset and looking through the reports i can't find anything written about it , well i guess i should have noticed anyway. i blame it all on my fever. but i hope you're ok with me taking dehli, need i say the mahabodhi nets us 25 gpt? i needed something to keep me occupied when i couldn't decide anything regarding builds.

here are some graphs to know where we stand:

at least there is a small dent in gandhi's power when he lost dehli and to be honest i don't think he has that big a military.

@NoChildren
Can we get a save? I was going to issue the next order just to realize the save was missing...

I'm back, so you can issue your PITA order now. I have the save NoChildren has posted.

I'm back, so you can issue your PITA order now.
I was going to issue it last night until I couldn't find the save...

I will be able to post tonight and have it there in about 10 hours.

OOC - Courthouse at Madrid? I love the governors... (NOT!)

Izzy: Now I understand the glory of Buddhism.
Advisor: Your highness, what happen to Hinduism our religion?
Izzy: We now control the Buddhist shrine, and it is richer then ours.
Izzy: I wish to rule from Delhi, our true home. Gandhi must be dealt with. I want that new palace fast.

Current PITA order:
1) Delhi must be switched to a palace. Izzy is moving.
2) No peace with Gandhi.
3) The upcoming GP must trip a GA **after** Delhi is out of resistance.

Inherited turn - 900 AD
I switched Delhi to a Palace and turned the governors off in all cities.
I left all other builds in place, as I'm not sure if I am allowed to change them. Therefore, I whipped Madrid so it can build something useful. (That Courthouse will save a whopping 1.26 gpt)

I noticed that Hammurabi has enough on his hands.
He will probably declare on Ragnar, his worst enemy, but we might be the target.

Ragnar is willing to dogpile Gandhi for CS, Currency and Polytheism. I hold off for now.

Turn 226 - 910 AD
I capture Calcutta. It has a culture-providing Monument, which confuses me until I see Delhi has Stonehenge, which works despite Delhi being in resistance.

There is no peace with Gandhi.

Turn 227 - 920 AD

I kill an Indian Cat which redlined an axe in Delhi IBT.

There is no peace with Gandhi.

Turn 228 - 930 AD

Mencius is getting bored. Gandhi's Shock axeman is still pillaging, but I now have two axes nearby, so it should be an ephemeral threat.

Turn 229 - 940 AD

There is no peace with Gandhi. The pillaging axe is killed, a Great General is born in Cordoba, and the Heroic Epic is unlocked (once we get Literature).

Turn 230 - 950 AD

Delhi comes out of resistance and we enter a golden age of PITAs. Never before have seats been spiked as sharply as today; never again shall we be forced to ruthlessly do very little with very few troops against a peacemonger like Gandhi.

Delhi will starve for a few turns, and cannot whip anything because it is stuck on a Palace.

Turn 241 - 960 AD

Metal Casting is researched. I start on Machinery.

Turn 233 - 980 AD

Bombay is captured with the loss of 3 Cats and an axeman.

Some forges are whipped.

Turn 235 - 1000 AD

Ragnar is collecting a stack in Pataliputra:

We can send it against Gandhi if we like for Metal Casting.

If Delhi is going to remain the capital for long (*waits for Izzy's advisor to flinch*), then Madrid would be an obvious Globe location.

We have Machinery coming in very soon, and no stack, so I think we should take 10 turns peace to build/upgrade some Macemen (those CR3 swords look nice ;)) and extract some tech before finishing Gandhi off. If we take this option, then the only chance to bribe Ragnar against India is now, as we won't be able to afford it after peace.

If we take 10 turns of peace with Gandhi i see no reason to have Ragnar attack him and take any of "our" cities. The only reason would be to keep Ragnar busy and not attacking us. To :assimilate: India shouldn't be a problem, especially not with maces. And when we have a couple of those hopefully our power rating will be high enough so we won't have to be so worried about being :backstab:, which is my only concern atm.

Izzy: Is my new palace complete?
Advisor: No you highness.
Izzy: Is the horrid Indian culture away from my new palace?
Advisor: No you highness.
Izzy: Then why do you bother me?
Izzy: Why are you wasting your time with buildings? We have an enemy to vanquish.

Finish the palace.
No peace with Gandhi until India culture is removed near Delhi.
HINT: I think there had better be more military being built the next time I look.
