LK26 - World Map

650 AD (Preturn) So a once over on the cities, nothing major. ooks like Lee didn't leave anything to be done on the diplo screen. Democracy is the only tech out there and nobody that doesn't have it, has enough money to make it worth buying to sell around.
I) Toowoomba finishes a worker and starts worker. I switch one of the fish to the gold hill to double its shields and make the growth in 4 and the worker in 5. It was 2/10.
Ballarat completes a barracks and starts an Aqueduct.

660 AD (1)
Worker and Caravel movement. Some pikes into undefended cities. Trade maps. No new tech.
(I) Sydney completes a settler and starts another. Freemantle finishes its temple and starts a Barracks. Darwin finishes an Aqueduct and starts a Musket. Newcastle completes a worker and begins a settler. The Babylonians start JS Bach's

670 AD (2)
More worker and caravel movement. Navigation is up for sell. Lincoln has it cheapest for 430g. This would make our maps worth more, but we are tapping most of them out as it is. I choose to wait and see if the price will drop. Saving money for Economics.
(I) The Zulus and Russians begin JS Bach's. The Chinese begin Shakespear's.

680 AD (3)
More of the same. Navigation has dropped to 320g from INdia. I will wait one more turn. I am moving all of the settlers to the farthest islands towards the mainland and settling back from there as the others are starting to fill towards us.
(I) Melbourne finishes a musket and starts a marketplace. Bathurst completes a Pike and Starts a Musket. The Egyptians start Shakespear's.

690 AD (4)
Move musket from Melbourne to join settler at Sydney. Navigation hasn't dropped so all who can but it have. Get it from India for 320g. Trade maps and get a free worker from Japan in map deal. They offered all their cash for the map. I selected the worker as well and they took it. Mao has ecomonics so we look for it elsewhere...get it from Cleo for 490g, Mao wanted 550g. Canberra would have finished it's bank this turn, but instead at the last second is switched to Smith's.
(I) Adelaide finishes a cathedral and starts bank. Geelonga completes a marketplace and starts a barracks. The Germans begin Megallan's Voyage.

700 AD (5)
Off-load a settler/muket/worker.
(I) We lose our supply of wines. No one seems to care. Sydney finishes a settler and starts another. Perth finishes a knight and starts another. Freemantle finishes a barracks and begins an Aqueduct. It's Not Geelong completes a worker and begins another. The Egyptians and Russians begin Smith's.

710 AD (6)
Hurry harbor in Fish Village. Change Dye towm to a library and rush it.
(I) Hobart completes its market and starts an Aqueduct. Newcastle finishes a settler and begins a musket. Dye Town completes its Library and returns to a Musket. Fish Village completes its harbor and starts a Library. The Germans begin Smith's. The Egytians start Magellan's. The Persians begin JS Bach's.

720 AD (7)
Load a musket, Knight and settler. This will be heading across the ocean for South America. The sooner we get there the sooner we get the resources we lack. We are also in a race for the best position on an island of the mainland with hopefully we can get there first and setttle.
(I) The chinese land a settler next to the Persians. The Greeks ask for an alliance vs the Romans, instead I sell them our WM again for 19g. Darwin finishes a musket and starts a bank. Even More Iron completes a worker and starts a settler. The Americans start Smith's. The Babylonians start Shakespear's. The Iroquois start JS Bach's.

730 AD (8)
Caravel sets sail for Americas. Our settler joins the Chinese and Persians, hopefully we got there first by boat. We will see this interturn. Finally someone can pay for iron. Aztecs at 15gpt.
(I) Rome and India sign a peace treaty. Sydney finishes a settler starts a market. Alice Springs finishes it harbor starts an aqueduct. The Russians begin Magellan's

740 AD (9)
The usual movements. We lose the race to the Persians so I load the settler back up and pick another spot.
(I) Lone square copletes a temple starts a harbor. Cairns finishes a market and starts an aqueduct. Derby finishes a musket and starts another. Point's East completes a temple and starts a harbor. Southwestern Port finishes a market and starts an aqueduct. Wellington finishes a temple and starts a worker. The Babylonians start Smith's.

750 AD (10)
Found Two Fish. Two Caravels with settlers in Southeast Asia. One on the way to Americas. This one may want to pop the goodie hut next on island before cutting across the ocean. I did not do diplo this turn (Sell maps). Everyone wants 800 for an extra lux, things are ok without it I didn't bother to get it.

Save Game 750 AD

I love it - Free worker from Japan. Considering that we would have gladly bought it.

:goodjob: I like the South America plan. It has another HUGE advantage - one city in America and we have 3 more civs to possiblely buy workers form ;)

My one complaint - UPGRADE OUR PIKEMAN!
I had our pikeman moving toward cities with Barracks to upgrade - instead the pikeman are back where the started.
The AI counts offensive and defensive points to decide if you are weak. Muskets have more defensive points.

Wonder cities should be shield MAXIMIZED - I moved from Ocean square to hills - 4 turns saved - this is major when going for a wonder. Smith's covers the whole map - really nice on the world map. I don't know if we have enough time to clear the jungle to get another good square for Canberra.

 South Western Port has an entertainer?

I knew more Iron would pay off sooner or later. :)

most for maps. Other civs could not pay as much since I was getting all their gold.

Here it is: Australian Domination

@ JJ : Man, you were gone missing for 2 days and then come back and complete two games in a row. That will leave me with two games to complete now. ;)

$135 for wm + a worker (Japan again!).
$205 for wm!

Well, I think my map fixation should be clear why.
The above is enough for **five** upgrades from pikeman to musket - that is huge.

Hopefully, we will get luck with a large block of workers one day.

Well have fun :) time for me to sleep

LK26 1050ad

P.S. i almost forgot, I moved a stack of Workers onto the Coal at Brisbane to RR that city up first.

Our first flip :)

I have a couple more of them I am hopeing for.

I should get a post sometime today - I am home for the weekend - limited playing time.

(0) 1050AD - We have RAILS, but none started :(
 - Why are we building roads in the unused desert?
Cancel road order in a game square being used by NO cities.

I crank science to the max - We need to go to war soon, and I want factories - the key to good war mongering.

Hurry temple - New Tatung, ANZAC - South American Post & Fish Village.
Switch Canberra to Wall Street - major :smoke: here - we had 5 banks for a while.
Switch Lonely island to Galleon and rush it.

I net ~$70 for wm.
I sell Steam Power to France for $47, $23/turn.
We are getting such a late domination start - I want the AI to rail there nations up.

(1) 1060 AD - I've been working on the railroad...
We gain $132 for wm - really good since we are gaining almost zero cash with factory research going on.

(2) 1070 AD - Rush settler in South America - This is the best way to expand there.
Rush more troops / settlers.
Russia has to much money, sign a RoP and snag $65.
Communism shows up, but the price is ABSURD.
Wm "only" gets $55.

(3) 1080 AD - Pop a goodie hut - Maps :(
Lee's Secret Island is formed.
Science drops 10% with no loss to completion time.
The babs have to much money - Renew RoP and snag $47.
wm ~ $50.
(I) Start order up a bunch more workers - we need to start building the rail-net.

[dance] New Delhi flips - We have another source of DYES
Instant rushed worker.
HOLY S!!!! - Dakyanus ALSO flips this turn. Another instant rushed worker - now size 1.

(4) 1090 AD - Stop offering Geelong is formed.
Rush worker in South American Port - Hey, this is the best place to invest money!
Slip science down 10% again.
Rush harbor in BorderTown.
Aztecs have to much cash - sign RoP - snag $40.
We find a German worker for sale - With the amount of rails we need to build...
Add a Greek worker for sale.
Didn't net much for wm, but it got the workers cheap.
(I) Germany / Japan MPP :( They are my first military target.
Oh goodie - the domestic nag about aqueducts. :crazyeye:

(5) 1100 AD - Boring turn - just $75 for wm.
WAHOO - Our brand new source of dyes $29 / turn from Egypt.

(6) 1110 AD - "Just" $73 for wm.
(I) Start electricty research for eventual ToE.
Switching most cities to factories.
However, I drop research some - I don't think there will be much competition.

(7) 1120 AD - It is money making time.
Industry to Russia (I like China having a strong power on the other side) -
We get Sanitation, $80, $35/turn.
Industry to Germany for $40, $13/turn
Industry to Egypt for Communism - we have a few cities that would appreciate police stations.
I sell Communism to Babylon for $80, $29/turn.
I don't really like to help China, but $79/turn for Industry is hard to resist.
Industry to France for $120, $17/turn.
(I) We begin Univeral suffrage in Canberra with factory - 26 turn eta.
The AI starts it - good luck, they can't beat 26 turns.

(8) 1130 AD - Meat factory is formed - It pops two goody huts - two worthless maps.
Nice Mountains is formed.
$96 for wm.
Rush temple in Indian Traitors (formerly New Delhi)
Expensive, but rush factory in Sydney - I want to get back to settler mode.

(9) 1140 AD - Rush ANZAC in South American Port.
net $66 for wm after buying a French worker.
I sold Greece wm for a worker, $1 - Yes they also gave me $1.
I rush Syndey a harbor - move food from the whale to offset the factory.

(10) 1150 AD - Lee's Gap Filler formed - harbor is ordered.
Russia has to much cash - rengoiate peace treaty for $58.
I tried to get Egypt cash, but peace only worth $25 - we need more military!
I snag $91 from Babylon for peace - I love civs that are WEAK compared to us.
China has extra cash - but WE would probably have to pay - no thanks.
France pays $38 to keep the Rop going.

-------------------------------------------------

Summary - I already have our first military target - JAPAN - small, behind in tech, and Iron / Coal in the Japan homeland.

We will have a NATURAL SaltPeter source soon!

Sell our world map every turn you can - at least do this every other turn.
TRADE MAPS WITH AZTECS / RUSSIA first - then the rest of the world.
Our biggest strength is turning out to be map broker

@ALL - Don't bother building universities - we don't plan to research that much - these put us at risk for a culture win.

We have factories, don't push science past ToE.
We are moving too fast to the modern age - Space age is enabled!
We can't stop the whole world from winning a space race.
NOTE: We don't want scientific method to be available until us is completed.
I don't want the AI to cascade to ToE
Once we have ToE - shut of research - time is NOT on our side.

IF THE GAMES CRASHES AT 37% - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ANZAC DIRECTORY.

Reason for the workers in the outback, I wanted a straight shoot through the middle of Australia from one side to the other just in case...

As for not building Wall street.. i personally don't consider that a high priority. $50 a turn is nice but when your income is over $600 its not a big deal and we need infrastructre more then that for the 20 or so turns. I was planning on building it in Brisbane once the Iron works finished.
