LK30 - Regent, city placement training.

Alright, here are my (extremely mind-numbing) ten turns:

(0) OK, I check around, everything seems just fine. We have a settler free in Berlin, but I don't see anywhere to put him...I guess I'll just throw him down in the desert. We WILL need oil, after all.

(1) Settler build in Leipzig. He'll go to the desert as well. What is this wandering spearman doing? I'll just fortify him in a nearby city.

(2) Nothing.

(3) Rome gets Poly and 40g for Contstruction. 6+ cities will be nice. I decide we'll go min sci on Monarchy for 16gpt.

(4) Hamburg revolts, I raise lux that I accidentally lowered. Damn it! Our settler is killed by a wandering horseman.

(5) We send a pack of workers to clear some jungle.

(6) Nothing. I check around diplomacy, and we seem to have a tech lead (mostly Poly) on just about everyone. But, because we are already hauling in 16gpt, selling would be worthless. I'm waiting to buy.

(7) Tons of American units are streaming through our territory, apparently to kill that barb camp and get a free 25g.

(8) Nothing.

(9) A whole stack of barb horsemen appear outside Cologne. Hopefully our lone elite Warrior can stave them off, and make a GL while we're at it. I decide to change our new city site: forget the desert, lets take some jungle and turn it into a productive grassland city.

(10) So much for the heroic warrior. The first horse kills him, the rest kill villagers, destroy temple (in progress) and steal about 100 gold. Damn. About the spear/settler heading south, just pick any jungle spot you want. The spot isn't too important.

Sorry guys, I'm going to have to drop this one. Too many SGs, too much homework. I can't play too many at one time, so I'll have to drop this one. Its been fun.

70 AD (0): Fire entertainer at konigsberg. Put Frankfurt worker to work building roads. Change Leipzig from courthouse to spearman for settler escort. Whip temple in Heidelburg. Trade Rome wines, Maps and 60 gold for Currency. Then we learned Monotheism. At first I was shocked but we are scientific after all that was the free tech. Trade Currency to Cleo for 100 gold and maps. Trade Abe Monotheism for Republic and 50 gold. Cathy has mono already. Change research to Engineering and increase to 50% break even, learn in 38 turns. Revolt at end of turn. Draw a winner [party] 2 turns of anarchy.

90 AD (1): more american settlers are coming, a barb SOD is coming from out of the desert :(.

110 AD (2): New Republic of Germany. MM all cities to fire entertainers. Research at 40%, lux at 10%, Engineering in 34 with +0gpt.

130 AD (3): Warrior survives and Promotes to elite. Defeated 5 horsies. Embassy with France for 46 gold. Building GW and in Anarchy now.

150 AD (4): Found Hannover in the jungle on the river close to Buffalo. American spear/settler pair moving North. MM Berlin and Hamburg to grow berlin in 2 settler in 2.

170 AD (5): Leipzig and Franfurt unrest :(. Hire tax collectors. Trade maps with russia and Japan at their requests. Establish china and Egypt embassies, china is 3 turns from Great Wall and revolting.

190 AD (6): Berlin builds settler and starts another. settler is heading to the North. Change Heidelburg to much needed harbor.

210 AD (7): Settler gets an escort, spearman arrives in Heidelburg. Sending warrior to dispatch the barbs to the N. Jungle clearing continues to the south.

IBTWN: Paris completes Great Wall and the cascade begins.

230 AD (8): Sell maps around, about 30gold. France and Rome are Gracious, Japan and Egypt annoyed, America, Russia and China Polite.

250 AD (9): Settler/spear pair heading to the hills to the north.

260 AD (10): New setter in Berlin, wait for spear escort. Recommend another city to the North with Konigsberg as a good FP site.

Engineering due in 24 with -1gpt.

Japan is the only civ with any real gold and will probably part with it for Republic or Mono.

I don't know what more to do here - I have never had such a problem keeping a game going. I wonder how much the training format in this one hurt.

If I can't get a third player, I will have to have the first ever unfinished LK game :(

Yeah, since this game started I've moved up, so the training part slowed it down and made it a hassle for me. Sucks to drop a game, but I'm running out of free time.

I have only played 2 games with the new patch, only 2 games I have played in about 6 months(both were on regent, both were close until industrialization), I just finally got civ installed on my computer after I lost everything on the old one, I would be willing to take an open spot if no one else claims it
