LK75 - Deity, world map, civ = TBD

This seems way early for me on a world map.. so I checked your save with Seed Beast.

Seed Beast says your Map Size is SMALL.
(Tech pace seemed way fast to me too for a world map of that size.. even for diety difficulty)

Guessing you have been hit by the bug descibed here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=98041
I found out myself recent about the world size bug. I set the scenario to be the same values for all map sizes. The issue isn't the bug.

The FP warning means my latest mod may have set the OCN to low.

1000 BC (0)
Looks good.
(I) – The Chinese kick us out.

975 BC (1)
Ulundi finishes the second Galley, starts an Impi.
(I) Babylon is building the Great Wall. Babylon completes the Great Library in Babylon. India completes the Great Wall in Bangalore. Looks like the cascade is dead.

950 BC (2)
Ibabanago founded. It starts a Temple to secure the Incense. The Persians have a Settler pair just outside the culture borders!
(I) Zim: Settler -> Settler, Intombe: Settler -> Settler

925 BC (3)
Luxury tax upped to prevent riots. Now making a measly 5 gpt. Then I realize that we are funding Joan’s army with 14 gpt. Never mind.
(I) Nada.

900 BC (4)
Not much.
(I) Songhai demands 31 gold. I cave.

875 BC (5)
Again, a rather boring turn. The Settler pair lands at the site SW of the Incense. Still no trades available. (I’ve been checking every turn.)
(I)Ulundi: Impi -> Galley

850 BC (6)
Isipezi founded SW of the Incense.
(I) Zim: Settler -> Horseman

825 BC (7)
ZZZ
(I) Hlobane: Settler -> Settler, Tugela: Barracks -> Impi

800 BC (8)
Turns are getting almost boring. A third Galley-settler is readying to load up.
(I) Bapedi: Worker -> Worker, Umfolozi: Warrior -> Harbor

775 BC (9)
Galley with a Settler heads for Madagascar, our coastal filling almost done.
(I) Ulundi: Impi -> Horseman

750 BC (10)
Okay, I screwed up last turn and let Umtata riot. It’s not a big deal; Umtata isn’t a major city. C’est la vie. Expansion to the Ne is pretty much done (two Settlers ready to plant on the spot.)

Expansion to the NE is pretty much done (two Settlers ready to plant on the spot.)
We still want to fill up Madagascar. I am not sure if enough of it has been explored for me to create a dot map.

We want to build a settler reserve for when the war to raze and replace the Songhai and / or Egyptian cities begin. We really want the ivory in the center of Africa.

==============

@Microbe - I can't tell from the above report if a galley started up the west coast of Africa toward Europe, then Greenland / North America. That galley should have one warrior to explore Greenland, and then find the Americas. The Americans should have at least one backwards civ for us to trade with.

Our short-term goals:
1) To get settlers to Madagascar and to find the new world. We should get a least one unit mapping out Madagascar.
2) Start building horseman. We want to raze a few Songhai and / or Egypt towns and see if they will donate to our science fund.
3) Expand, expand, and expand with the goal of getting that incense and a backup iron.
4) Our government goal is MONARCHY. We are luxury poor, and plan to do a lot of fighting. We simply can't support a republic.

Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to complete.
>> Starting with LK68 the LK series is on patch 1.22.

I didn't send either Galley to explore, instead using both to ferry Settlers northward. One Galley with an Impi and Settler is near Madagascar, and the other Galley just dropped off an Impi/Settler pair on the coast.

I am sorry, but I guess I have to drop out of this game. It's extremely slow on my laptop, and actually just crashed - last time it certainly wasn't like this. Did you change anything in the setup? Or my laptop just got slower? :(

Since Rik expressed his interest, I guess he can take my position. I did play 3 turns. Let me know if you want me to post it. I'm really sorry. It's my first dropout of an SG.

I am curious - did you install Service Pack 2 of windows? I am been hearing a lot of bad news about that!

I will invite Rik.

MM Zim to grow and finish Horseman next turn.
Zim rax -> horse.

I didn't catch the mistake from Cuivienen and Zimbabwe. This city is our settler factory and should be building settlers only! We are going to start a raze and replace campaign versus Egypt or Songhai and should have the settlers on standby.

Ok I've got it and a new box and have to find my snoopy graphics the orginal stink.

Will try and play tonight. Should have it back for Lee tomorrow.

LK75 550 BC (0): We are continueing to expand but Zimbabwe is building horses. I change it to a settler but will have to figure out how to get it back to a settler factory. Decide a worker can't hurt right now . So opt for a worker. Perhaps another then settlers. Change Bapedi from an impi to a settler as well. There is no barracks and we have lots and lots of food in that town. Our naked settler in the West has no where to go. There is a Sonaghi settler taking our spot. Change Zangum from a warrior to a cat. Without a baracks I would rather have the artillery support. Change Intombe to a cat as well. Don't see the need for regular warriors. Change Amatikulu from a warrior to a temple. Change New Ulundi to a temple.

Am I missing something here? Was there a GOOD reason for the regular warrior constructions? I am normally not so big on the veto but without good reasons I have to go with my gut feelings.

Our lux tax sux and we really need to get a luxury online soon. I see spices in our future. Is it worth a short term colony? Hmm.

Check the tech front and we are about typically behind with no chance at a 2fer because we can't afford techs not because of lack of opportunties. Sell Greece Poly for all his gold 60. Mao gets poly for 31 gold.

Okay now the try for trades. I lower lux and buy currency from Joanie for 440 gold and 26gpt. Trade currency and 23gpt to the Mongols for construction. Not wanting to leave without Monarchy I politely ask Catherine for Monarchy and she wont trade. Soo.. we renegociate peace and she gets construction and currency and we get Monarchy.

Up lux to 30% and will have a colony next turn. Want to revolt but seems like a cop out given that we will be running in debt but will not lose buildings.

530 BC (1): Zim builds a worker starts another. Our FP is completed and we start building horses. Mpondo builds a temple starts a barracks. Okay now I am sure I broke an unwritten rule but felt the incence colony was a must given the money situation I put us in.

510 BC (2): Zim builds another worker and starts a settler. It is back on a 4 settler cycle. New Zim builds a warrior starts a temple. The problem we have is that we can't revolt to Monarchy yet because we are broke.

490 BC (3): Swazi builds a temple starts a baracks. Aztecs completed THG. Sell Lit to Greece for chump change but every little bit helps, 20 gold.

470 BC (4): Hlobane build a horse starts another. Isandhlwana a horse, starts another. Ngome builds a galley starts a temple.

450 BC (5): Bapedi builds a settler and I take this time to squeeze in a market. Check the power graph and renegociate peace with Babylon for 8 gold. Not much but something.

430 BC (6): Zim builds a settler starts another. Intombe builds a barracks starts a horse. New Bpedi builds a warrior starts a temple. Not much else.

410 BC (7): Ulundi continues to build horses. As does Isandhlwana. We get 16 gold from Greece for Col. Currency to China for a worker and 1 gold.

390 BC (8): More of the same. Continue to move horses to the front lines near the Southern Songhai.

370 BC (9): Okay more horses and a few other random builds complete. MOre of the same.

350 BC (10): A new Zim settler. Isandhlwana a horse but starts a market. Swazi a barracks starts a horse. Umfolozi a harbor starts a temple. Babs start Knights TEmplar.

I made bold tech move I hope the 18-20 turns we have to wait to revolt are worth it. I didn't see techs getting any cheaper and we were not waiting 40 some odd turns for monarchy so I took a shot.

Good luck with the fast Songhai war. I think we can take 2 or 3 cities soon, before they get pikes down there.

I can't find a save attached

============================

Okay now I am sure I broke an unwritten rule but felt the incence colony was a must given the money situation I put us in.
When I looked at the game I was thinking the exact same thing. I am not sure what rule you thougth you borke.

============================

The problem we have is that we can't revolt to Monarchy yet because we are broke. I made bold tech move I hope the 18-20 turns we have to wait to revolt are worth it.
:confused: I don't understand the issue. The LK series has no rules against this.
