Alright, so I'm playing as the Amurites on a Huge Tectonics map. Luckily for me, one of the three civilizations sharing my continent is the Balseraphs. Hurray. Anyway, I see Loki running around, and if the unit itself wasn't annoying, he kept screaming "Here I am!" every turn. So I wanted to get rid of him.

I found my chance several turns later. I managed to corner him against the Coast, with 5 Warriors blocking every possible land exit. So I send one of them to attack him. Then I get the message "Loki has fled from combat!" Wait, what? He didn't have anywhere to go! So I look all over my continent. He's nowhere to be found. Dying with curiosity to figure out were the hell he went, I open up Worldbuilder and look around.

I found him wreaking havoc on another continent, at least 20 ocean tiles away. Apparently he jumped into the water and swam across, because boats have not yet been invented. Wow. Just... wow. At least he wasn't bothering me anymore!

 I really think that Loki's withdrawing is overdone. he should not be able to survive when cornered without any way to get out.

I once .32 surounded him, only to have him jump my units, then run off.

Sorry, double post.

Just a comment, can't he just walk THROUGH your units? I've never actually tried to beat him up because I found him rather amusing. But can't Loki just walk by your guys thus unable to surrounded him? (Think of it like you are out exploring the wilderness and two scouts walk onto the same tile, no problem unless you're at war).
Or do you declare war first then surround?

In erebus games I've had him jump across mountain chains.

He can only be cornered in a city. Good thing though, it can be any city. Just use an HN unit to attack him while he's in a city tile.

Honestly, every game, as soon as I see him, I open the editor and delete him. He isnt a challenge, or a threat ( I never give open borders with them) he is, for a game, far worse... ANNOYING. Really, I like a game to be challenging but rule one is it has to be fun, and Loki is just stupid.

His puppets nabbed three of my workers last game. Not too much trouble, but he did keep me on my toes. I personally have given the AI major head-aches with worker stealing and puppet harassment.
Loki has his place. He's just not the big, game changing hero that many others are. Perhaps if he could get some late game abilities...

Playing as Balseraphs he's a blessing. Everytime you see an enemy send out a settler - just follow him. In the newly constructed city cast disrupt and DING - you got a new city :)

It's quite a cheat you make. He doesn't need open borders to walk in your cities.
Haha! Cheater. Haha! =>

;D

I think that is what I'm going to do in the future.

Honestly i was never able to surround him, but if this is the case how is it possible to kill him if he can even swim ;) ?

Anyway is it only me or Loki never tries to enter my cities to disrupt them, he just run into my territory but always bypass my cities

Yeah, I've never seen him or his puppets do anything to my cities, either. He just wanders around being a general annoyance to the ears without DOING anything.
