LONES: Dawn over a New World

The Jadueh walked solemnly into the King's private chambers. Such things were not taboo anymore, as the Church was gaining more and more power. "Sire..." He spoke quietly, bowing his head. Niceties were still observed, however. "Yes?" Answered the King. "Oh, hello, young Methos. come, sit by my fire."

"The proper way for a King to address a Priest is Jadueh."

"I worship Ja'Net; I need not bow to his servants. What have you come to say, before I have you cast out into the night?"

The Jadueh Methos glared at his feet. He didn't deserve to be treated this way. He was as able a warrior as any other.

"Sire, Egypt is a breadbasket. There is such fertility as we have never seen there; investment would be a sure thing. Please, let us send our priests, settlers and diplomats. We could feed the Kingdom ten times over. It's our chance to turn the Kingdom into an Empire."

The King sat for four days anf four nights contemplating and discussing plans with the heads of his kingdom. After the fourth night, he made a royal decree, stating that those who went to the new Province to start a new life would be paid three gold coins to do so. This increased the Nationhood/Loyalty of his people. :D

Since we've found it hard to negotiate with all of you, perhaps we could with just some of you. Capitulate; join our Empire or become our vassals, or it will be done by force. If you choose to become our vassals, we would request that you hand over the island of Syracuse to us immediately, and we shall halt all military actions against you. You will pay a (turnly) tithe of tribute to us, increasing our (economy). Failure to do so will result in annexation.

OOC: I am increasingly enjoying this NES, LOD. My orders will be a bit annoying this turn, as I have seperate stuff I have to do in each sphere. Good day, sir!

You have turned our brothers and sisters against us, which we can never forgive. We shall meet you on the field of battle, or not at all.

OOC: Glad you're enjoying the NES, hopefully it will continue to get better :)

Aww, I wanted like 5 or 6 nations...

Aww, I wanted like 5 or 6 nations...

And you would have gotten them, if it weren't for several reasons listed below:

1. MSPaint hates custom colors. It does. Absolute blind hatred.

2. The stats list would go on forever.

3. Aaaaugh! Aaaaaugh!

:p

Stats will come in a few hours. Some more NPC diplo:

From: Makadi Horde, Servants of the Glorious Ravane
To: Kingdom of Salvonic

Lay down your arms, and pledge yourselves to Ravane the Glorious, or suffer the wrath of his hordes!

New tricks for you!

First, save this I just made for you:

Your nations seems organized compared to the petty citystates and villages we have encountered. Perhaps you are of another civilization upon this land. We welcome you, and ask for peace and continued trade along the Egyptian-Anatolian trade route*

(The ancient traderoute through Syria/Paletine: Egypt trades Salt and gold for Anatolian Iron and Shaped metal in exchange for Arabian Spices.)

@LoE: Could I get a response please?

OOC: @LoE - well, decrease of unity and control was also my big concern. That's why I created the new class of Deacons. They get no love in the update? :(

@LoE: Could I get a response please?

To me it seems like your bureacratizing your government to the extreme. With all the various offices, of offices, of offices, of departments (et cetera), I figured power types would emerge that would game the system to make themselves landlords, and enforce a type of government-sanctioned feudalism.

The effect however being that the isolated fiefdoms that the nobles control are heavily reliant on trade and commerce, making the country as a whole reasonably well off. You could, if you wanted, repeal over the next few turns, the legislature or move it in a different direction.

On a different topic, many thanks to Abaddon. I will be putting this color-wheel-thing(-a-majigger-ification) to use in the future :)

We are excited about this deal, though you might want to get an agreement from the Malakhan Kingdom, who control the Anatolia regions.

Noted and sent to Malakhan as well.

Orders:
Expand into Sakhalin, Ryukyu Island, Korea and North from the Chinese City. Staying north of that river :)

Expand the economy by investing money and gold into local shops.

Expand the Army by further increasing incentives to join.
Do this with the navy as well as build newer and faster ships.

Stats:
Spoiler :

Nation/Culture Name: Calli
Color: Dark Red
Government: Tribal Confederacy
Capital: Fornia
Population: Growing
Economy: Expanding
Religion: The Calli follow the ways of the sun, the moon and the visible planets, comets, meteor-showers.
Loyalty/Nationhood: Placated
Wonders/Projects: None
Army: Growing
Navy: Tiny

Orders:

Spoiler :
- Proceed on our project Scope, that will be a place where we can further investigate, research and theorise about the stars, planets, comets,... (we will try to keep the link with festivals, holidays,.. with this project and our religion, hopefully it will create a happier people who are willing to help out more on this project, and let it finish sooner. If not, we will keep a steady pace in construction and be patient.

- After building so many universities and schools, we will start to send out people to learn more about the world, geography, biology,... They will be included with "missionaries" to promote the Calli culture and religion.

- We will try to implement new science in our Army, making stronger units or make them move faster.

- After growth in our city's and country continues, we will create a currency. This currency will help trade, and we will also introduce it in nearby tribes. This fits in the idea of Calli-nizing them. Tribes must willingly join our great empire!

@ Lord you haven't increased my army and my religion
and I like how you haven't increase my population even though my country have tripled in size.

I haven't updated the stats yet, out of laziness. Your population will increase next turn, I'm delaying population increases after expansion or at least trying to do so consistently, to reflect that despite your influence may extend further, you may not have full control over the regions.

I will post the stats this afternoon. I've been having a bit of a cold, but they will get posted!

occ: I said expand into florida, but on the map my expansion was minimal. I was woundering if this is a mistake or if I encountered trouble of some sort.

Orders:
Continue expansion north and into florida and into the carribien (cuba)
Use slave labour to improve irrigation, sanitation systems in the city, as well as manufacturing of weapons.

Malakhan is currently being NPC'd by request of Tree151.

well I want Peace.

When are orders due? Not much free time lately, so no stories this turn, maybe a nice discription.:(

BTW, If I don't get back, I want to expand to the sinai, down the Red Sea on both sides, and up to Kurdistan/Mesopotamia. We will follow traderoutes and "Persuade" caravansais and towns to join under the rule of the Grand Head Priest.

Our government splits into three branches; The Piety, the Military and the Money.

The Piety is head by the Grand Head Priest, who is too tired to manage all the trade, towns and war.

The Military is under the Grand Head Priest, the Monac, the Grand General, will command all the loyal forces in case of war. Other officers are voted on by the forces sent from various towns to be organized at Kivoria.

The Money branch is formed of the retired, and riches of them all. This branch will organize expiditions, collect taxes for the Piety (still the main branch), donate funds and use their knowlege of the tradespeople from their younger days to find the cheepest, and best workers to use in government projects while paying generously (or risk getting kicked by the Grand Head Priest.)

All the Branches balance the three, the Grand Head Priest is no longer the frenzied do everything man of before: as Kivoria is not the simple land of a few towns as before. Now, he will serve as a mostly religious authority at the top of the food chain, and will look at all projects before accepting them instead of instigating everything himself.

Kivoria becomes ever more united in the Worship of the Almighty Vorthon, and under the guidence of the Smartest of the Army, the Shrewdist of the Money and the Wisest of the Piety.
