LotRnes

I personally liked naervods idea. As far as I can see, there are three versions that are favoured here.
1. Everyone is a race, we follow the book.
2. Everyone is a race, we don't follow anything.
3. Everyone chooses a city, they can expand a bit.
@naervod, Sheep: If version one was taken, the "undead" would be around, but they wouldn't be able to expand very much. If version two, then anything could happen. In version three, I don't think that they would be possible. If none of these are played then, well, I can't say anything.
Wich version do people want, 1, 2, 3 or something else?

I personally think that if we are shooting for a truly LotR style NES, we should stick with version one. I'm sure that between Gladinia and I we have enough historical information about Middle Earth to make this succeed.

I believe that version 1 sucks because we wouldn't be playing...We'd be taking etext out of the book!THere's no fun in that!I like version 2..Let us have our race and start blasting eachother to crap!

Nope!

I would play 1 or something else. But what exactly does follow the bock mean? What about an Last Alliance setting? Or a Silmarillion setting?

I like naervods idea, but it would be hard to act normal, because we know what will happen and because the evil will never win, because that would end the game.

Nope!

Yeah...You'd be ruining a perfectly good ruthless ******* bent on taking over the world!Again...:(

Well we wouldn't have to follow exactly whats in the book, only the major events. Besides, there can be an evil player, and it might turn out differently because some of the players are smarter (or dumber in some cases) than the leaders of Middle Earth. I was thinking most of it could be unscripted.

However, if no one else wants version 1, I would say version 2.

I don't wanna do number 1...But i'd gladly be the bad guys!:D

I think it should be like a WW2 nes. Every player pics one country and then you can do what you want. Rohan could decide, that it would be the best to avoid war with saruman at all cost or the elves could gather for a last attack on sauron etc. But nothing like Elrond allies with Sauron against gondor.

The Fellowship could be a "nation" too. they would be the only role playing only faction, and they would try to convince the other players to gather against sauron. Their main objective would be to destroy the ring, but they wouldn´t have to follow the orginal story line.

The other nations would have heros too, because heros what the books are about.

I made a map of the third age in map area, anyone knowing more civs can take the map and add to it.

Tossi, that is a really good idea, I would like to do something like that.

Oh wait the map there is ugly gif! You need to save it to 14 colors (right, it's 14?) BMP first :)

Tossi's idea sounds good, maybe change a bit, but it is really good.
I'm going to make a poll with these variations. If everybody votes, then we'll know what to do.
1. Everyone is a race, we follow the book.
2. Everyone is a race, we don't follow anything.
3. Everyone chooses a city, they can expand a bit.
4. We do what we want to, but the goal is to destroy the ring.
Anybody want to add something, just tell me.

I think four sounds good. As the bad guys are central to this I think they need to be done by the MOD of the game.

3 seems Best to me , i dont see the point to follow the book since you would already know what you can expect and how things will end

Hey Fëa, I still remember you as originator of the first LOTR NES thread.

I also vote for 3.
