Hello everyone,
Thx for joining me on my first travel into an Immortal Game of Civ VI!
I am relatively new to Civ6, been playing for about 4 weeks now, mostly on the iPad (believe it or not).

I am pretty sure I will make tons of boneheaded moves along the way.
Please feel free to chime in, I am eager to learn and get better, but pls be gentle ;)

Game setup:
- Gilgamesh, Sumeria
- Immortal difficulty (my first, and as of this writing I dont know how soon I will die...)
- Standard game speed
- Continents
- Small map (ie 6 civs)

I have installed two mods (yes, on the iPad!)
- AI+
- Unit Report Screen

Unfortunately, other mods wouldnt work on the iPad:
- Better Trade Screen
- Production Queue
- YAMP

Gilgamesh has some really nice features IMHO, the War Cart is definitely a great weapon!
Not sure about their building though. Should we spam-build that until we have proper science buildings?

I really like the initial location, mountains, rivers, plenty of luxury resources!
We even stumbled on a 2nd continent right away!

IMHO my only chance of survival is to build a small army of Slingers and War carts, before I get overrun by the other two civs on my continent.
OK, slinger it is, as I want the eureka from killing a Barb as soon as possible, then go for Archery.

Well, that was quick! My first contact and (again!) I run into Teddy first!
He seems to haunt me in my games.
Call me crazy, but I think I need to put him out of his misery asap, before he gets his war machine going.

We are slowly plugging along, Animal Husbandry, Archery started.
First City State met: Kandy.

I havent found Washington yet, but the first Barb outpost (bottom center), and my first Slinger is getting ready.

Oh, big moment, my first civics breakthrough.
I believe Discipline is a no-brainer to have a chance against the barb hordes that are sure to come.

I am not 100% sure about God King, but going for my Pantheon with the Faith gain, and neglect the +1prod seems like the best bet.

It seems the fun is slowly starting to get real, first barb and first american warriors are on my radar.

I am not getting the Archery Eureka because I killed the barb while defending?
Is this a bug? Well, some breakthroughs clearly state that you need to actively kill in your turn.
I am miffed nevertheless ;)

I decide not to push for Archery without the boost, and switch temporarily to Astrology.
My Slinger is too far home anyway for a fast upgrade.

My first War Cart is about to get ready. That should help with the first barb outpost.

I feel good about my decision on God King Civic, the faith I gained through it added up quickly.
Is it too greedy to add God of the Forge to my War Carts?
Well, it's my first Immortal game, so I feel a bit anxious.

Astrology came and went, now switching to Pottery.
Still without the Archery boost. Where are the barbs??

Should I stop and build a Holy Site and Temple first?
Or keep going for the army I want to send over to Teddy?
I decide for more War Carts as the Pantheon has to pay off, would be a waste otherwise.

My first tribal village gives me a Builder, yay!
I send him right over to build on the resources in the south: rice and cattle.
Should I spend his last move for a chop?

Teddy is always super friendly at the beginning, but I fell for this before and then I couldnt start a war against him... lol
"Sorry, bud, I have other plans! But dont worry, no need to build an army over there!"

OH! Teddy didnt lose much time and used his immortal advantage for a total of three cities!
Holy smokes. This will be as hard as I initially thought it might be.

Then again, he built Philly right in my path and asked for what is coming his way! :)

Oh boy, the anglo-american duo is hot on my tails!
Should I consider myself lucky that I am not facing an early warmonger or concerned?

I found London, which is good. I have both their capitals mapped out now.
London is also a bit further away, and Philly is right on my doorstep.
So we will stick with our plans for Teddy.

Charleston? Siege? Where, what, who, why?
This could only be a massive barb attack, or?

Still no archery boost btw. This is not helping :(
