LS Civilization Set

How do the barbarians join you? They appear out of nowhere? They've got to be relatively close to your civ? Or is it just 5 random barbarians from around the map that you suddendly get to control?

Barbarians from revealed tiles (doesn't have to be visible), range is global, random (distance doesn't matter), max healed and upgraded (depends on your technology).

In your buisness is to keep area with Barbarians to the late game. :)

Gonna start working on master Polish civs now.

@edit
They appear where they standed.

Really nice changes, also that Qin leaderscreen is so good.

I have recently visited DotA stream and I have to admit that I have no idea what those mini-faces mean. Too old for new stuff.

Stephen Bathory set my private recent record of controlling 5 Capitals and was my friend in Autocracy (I was drowning in unhapiness anyway, struggling to keep it positive). Only 10 players kept Capital to the end, i think I lost every single fishing boat. Since I like stats, I kept track on appearance, 78 different civs through ten games, Aztecs and Spain won the spotlight with 6 appearances, while Greece managed to have the strike of 5 in the row.

I have also updated set X, mainly mechanics with two note-worthy changes:
~Mughal's Ability is no longer working on Free Great People (small nerf, it is related to Liberty Finisher and Leaning Tower)
~Spartan General now has new ability (old removed):
Can join melee or gun unit, increasing its base combat strength by 25% and causing this unit to provide Great General bonus to itself and nearby units (both bonuses are kept on upgrade). Consumed by action.

And some fancy Shah Jahan:

Time for game 11th.

Thanks a lot. I am actually working on Romania so timing is perfect, unfortunately I can't find a proper unit model and in this special case I would prefer something fitting. Moustache is no-no. Quite sad, because Amazons are definitely worth an update :), and horse for those who didn't get the joke yet. Horseman + War Charriot UU would create some ultra-agressive early horde.
Both civs will receive some fancy leaderscenes. Romanian one is done and it looks nice.

I have met a bug playing against Franks, unfortunately AI sometimes freeze when Mounted Infantry doesn't start Combat due to penalty. Save/Load helps (I needed to do this 4 times in a single game). Set XIV updated, some minor changes to other stuff.
I messed up Qin ability so Set IX updated as well with fix.

Just wondering: Any plans on updating set XV with the flavor stuff I sent you some time ago AKA the music, DOM and such, or will you wait until there's some real maintenance need for an update?

No problems either way! :)

I have played 7 games against Mapuche so far, and I witnessed the Ndongo's ability at last. Land covered in shadows, hilarious, but I have yet to conquer them (want to see how useful is ability, range penalty should be pretty devastating). Ndongo needs a better art though and Bank should be buffed in order to give all this turtling any sense. Niitsitapi actually have placeholder UB, so it has to be designed. At last, even though I believe Mapuche traits are quite useful ("slow" aura would be great on multi probably), they need more fun. I am thinking that General should reclaim enemy citadels (if within two or less plots to your territory) - would fit the theme of leeching military power from enemies. Maybe within next two months, at best.

Unfortunately, I don't remember anything more than Music and DoM text. Mind linking it? About music, by any chance, could you find something without lyrics, purely instrumental? The length can be even about 1:45, I would loop it.

Can do. Mind you though, it's Mapuche music, so it'll probably sound weird to your ears. :crazyeye:.

What else you need? Civilopedia info, diplo/spy/city stuff?

Art references? I've got like 10 MBs of it. :p

I actually think that art is decent. Unless, you magically have 3d environment for leaderscene I don't see a point. Sigh, Scythian leaderscene is more of the challenge.

City list is taken from civ 3 mod, seems decent, you can verify it if you want. Spy names are random Mapuche names. GG unique names taken from wikipedia list. Diplo text is obviously done as well. Though I follow the firaxis standard of greeting/defeat only.
Leader flavours looks ok. They are quite lively.

About music, yaa, I am quite fragile and nitpicky. "Oh shaka" makes me mute civ 5.

I think I can reveal the new Romanian leaderscene:

Turned out to be one of my favourite.

I technically have a 3D environment, but it'd be mostly ripping it from my Age of Empires mod. :D So yeah, not quite ideal.

City list and such is fine, otherwise it'd be just repeating the stuff I sent Leugi, and I'd rather avoid that.

As for music:

Peace:

War:

The 3 last minutes or so of this could work, (Start from 10:55 onwards) it does have a small vocal element, but I'm not quite sure if it strictly counts as singing :crazyeye:

Otherwise, there'd be this one, which Leugi was using, but aparently not anymore:

You're the boss!

Now that I remember, the civ was playing European instead of Native American music during gameplay, I assume that can be fixed?

I have no idea how soundtracks work. You can edit those in "Mapuche civ mod.xml". I just add soundtrack tag, the name of in-game civ I believe fits the most. I think the Inca would be most proper, but I have used Brazil as reference.

Set VIII updated.
Tibetan UU gains extra Combat Strength per 2 levels (instead per level).
New Romanian leaderscene
New Romanian UA: "Scorched Earth" Cities may pillage own improvements. Units starting turn on pillaged improvement strikes fear in nearby enemies.
Romanian UU: "Szekely" Knight, can withdraw from melee attacks, breaks fortification of adjacent enemies.
Romanian UB: "Wooden Church" Temple, +2 Culture, contributes to constructing or repairing improvements if there is no nearby enemies.
New Scythian leaderscene.
New Scythian UA: "Fed from Horse-Blood" - Gain access to Horse resources without improving them. Units requiring Horse increase the nearest city's Production by 1.
New Scythian UU: "Royal Skula" - Chariot Archer, available at Animal Husbandry, When spents all movement points without attacking, Royal Skula performs ranged attack if there is valid target.
New Scythian UB: "Kughan Tomb" - Temple, no maintainence, gains instant culture boost based on total amount of horse resource owned (excluding import), the enemy finds Ancient Ruins if the city is captured.

I know why. I remember my first game with mods having those extra lines, it was rather confusing experience. They probably decided not to mess up casual players. And repeating same cheap jokes become cheesy quite fast. To be honest, Quiet AI kills the great amount of responses, I don't even see Greeting/Defeat stuff I made. Nor those fancy leaderscenes. :/ I sometimes visit AI just to glance.

I played Sparta yesterday, mmm, they can still go through immortal AI like a train. However, It seems that whoward's unit upgrade event fires in bad moment and the unique GG bonus increasing base combat strength is currently lost. Let it be a feature for a while, I have already upgraded this set twice recently (they keep leaderdship aura).

Anyone willing writing a DoMs or making Maps? Just taking a wild chance.

Cassimir IV (Jogaila would be fine since it will be Jagiellonian Poland)
Boleslav Chrobry (Principality of poland)
Sobieski (the Commonwealth - Poniatowski would be great without mentioning Poniatowski on map)

Thanks in the advance. :)
