ls612's C2C Units

I think personally that Tanks should only be something you need to manufacture through the Modern era or so, because after that you have a mix of tanks, hovercraft, and walkers in most units.

Don't the mechs need the mech factory to be made?

Also I wanted to make an Artillery Yard that produces an Artillery resource. Note this would be a step up from the Siege Workshop and Cannon Forge which require the units to be built only in the city that has them rather than anywhere the resource is present.

@ls612, SilentConfusion and/or TB

Can one of you please do these 2 things?

1. Have the Dog Worker upgrade to the Camel Worker, Mammoth Worker and Llama Worker too.

2. Give the Camel Worker, Mammoth Worker and Llama Worker these icon/buttons.

Thanks. :goodjob:

2 is harder than it looks because the new workers don't actually have unique artdefines. They are just one worker and 1 or 2 of their associated animals, so there isn't an artdefine to add their button to really.

Ok here is my idea for the Moai improvement. Note that its really good at culture in the early eras, but that's it. No production or food. And later era improvements end up being better in the long run.

Moai [Improvement]
Req Tech: Megalith Construction
Terrain: Cannot Be built on Dunes, Salt Flats, Marsh, Muddy, Permafrost or Ice.
Terrain Features: Must Remove Forest, Jungle, Grass, etc before it can be built.
Elevation: Can Be Built on Flatland and Hills but not Mountains.

Since you did not link any graphics for this I don't think it has been built.

I am looking at a special worker that you can build if you have the Nazca Lines wonder. It will be able to place Geoglyphs on desert and barren terrain. Any ideas on what the geoglyph improvement should give?

Is a National Stability bonus possible on that? If we get more creative with our improvements we might want to consider adding new improvement tags...

What about Petroglyphs? I'd suggest a little food and a bit of commerce on those as they were often early calendar methods that helped the tribes to track times to do various things to improve their food and water collections.

I'm fine with the current Prehistoric lineup of improvements for now, we don't want to overwhelm people at that stage with improvement choices when they are probably more interested in hunting and killing animals and exploring.

@ls612

When can we go back to going over intlidave's units? Specifically the Naval units? When we last went over them in February your responses sort of disappeared since you said you were busy with other projects.

However now you seem to want to balance later eras but we have not even finished balancing units for those eras. All we really have finished was the aircrafts.

Yeah, about Aircraft. One of the posters in the Industrial era thread pointed out that the current aircraft setup is not at all balanced, which makes me unhappy, as it means that I'll have to spend some time rebalancing them again. :( It also makes my leery of using more if initldave's ideas.

Well on the short term. What's up with SilentConfusion's stuff? Specifically ...

1. Urban Horseman.
2. Giving Tank resource to most Tank units.

And then of course the ...

3. Have the Dog Worker upgrade to the Camel Worker, Mammoth Worker and Llama Worker too.
4. Give the Camel Worker, Mammoth Worker and Llama Worker icon/buttons.

These 4 things need to get done. Please make them happen and/or help SilentConfusion with them before you continue with other projects (ex. Era Re-Balancing, Traits, etc).

1. It should already be on the SVN? Is his module not loading for some reason?

2. I don't know how he is coming along on that.

3, 4. I'll do those over the weekend.

The Spartan Warrior is pink and has the wrong icon/button too. It should look like this.

The Urban Horseman is in the SVN but does not show up in the game.

I guess it would help if the art of the unit would be in Assets/art folder rather than in SilentConfusions.

I am wondering if there may not be a limit to the number of modules you can have in the one MLF. @dll people Is there a limit? That is only reason I can see for it not being included.

We usually have the art in our own folders until just before the freeze, or when we are done with the unit, when we move it all into core. It just makes it easier to fix is all.

Is National Stability the same and reducing the revolution index, if so I am in favor, if they can be tech adjustments then more so.

@Dancing Hoskuld

Can the graphic for the Moai building/wonder be used?

I tried using it but it is "coastal special" and I can't convert it to an improvement.

Sorry for the triple post - that is what happens when you have 3 single post views up that you are working on or investigating.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest how it all works out in Rev. But I did add tags to the Traits that mirrored what is available in Civics and I'm wondering if any similar tags exist in improvements. But if they aren't, to program them would be a mess of how to best implement questions until we get a better clarification on the entire revolution process.

Tech adjustments? Please go into further detail on what your thinking there...

I was thinking that with some of the improvements especially geoglyphs and Moai that they would provide a sense of national pride at different times but would go in and out of favor. depending on the importance f culture/history to the nation. Eg Burial Mounds in England were very important when they were made, in the Middle Ages and Renaissance when pilgrimages were all the rage, and again today with archaeology and tourism. The rest of they time they just were, or were in the way but there was no need to fuss over them, just get rid of them if they are in the way. So that is the tourism aspect but there is also the national pride aspect too.
