What spiratual authority? The Pope is indeed out head of state, however the real power lies with the Prime Minister. We see the other claims of Italian unity being the cause of war as unfound, and we find France who preaches liberty, equality and fraternity of only believeing such ideals are only valid for the French people.
We look towards their invasion of Germany to be the single most blatant act to upset the balance of power in Europe and although Italy itself may fall, we look towards the day when the French Republic once again fail in its quest for domination.
Futhermore we see what faithful allies the French are. Just because we spoke against their aggression and did not support their invasion of Germany, just as we spoke out against the Austrian invasions and wars, we are being invaded.

Mexico may fall know, but it is better to die now, knowing we tried, than to die later, in ignorance.
