I've been having a hell of a time with Civ4 lately. Getting my butt kicked in wars, building my empire only to discover the AI has tons more cities, better tech, and I'm screwed, etc.
Today, after several regenerations, I finally got a start I liked. While exploring around, I discovered Bronze Working, and found Copper in my capital's fat cross. To make things even sweeter, both Cyrus and Louis were to my north, each LITERALLY next door to each other (don't know HOW that happened...).
Needless to say, my Axe rush came swiftly and decisively. Now I've got three "capital" cities and am expanding. I've knocked out almost 1/3 of the competition before 1000 B.C. My only problem is, I think I'm sandwiched between Liz and Kublai. I'm not 100% sure, though. I'll keep one of them around (probably Liz) and destroy Kublai since I tend to see him as an aggressive psycho (although not as bad as some others). If my city expansion can corral him, I'll try to keep him around and destroy Liz (since I see her as more of a threat in the later game).
