All right, personally I'm a huge fan of Eminem, and enjoy listening to the whole lyrics to shock thing... But sometimes I wonder if it goes to far for example this song by Eminem called Kim, please watch it, and tell me if that goes far enough to be actually wrong. ASs opposed to just being something people should just take as the satire it is... How I take most lyrics to shock songs like Criminal. Personally I kinda' like this song, but I feel almost like listening to it should be a criome, because it's so damn twisted.

Getting offended is a choice.
No song or lyric should be banned because some milksop thinks it is too shocking.

And!
If you want brutal lyrics, check out a band called Vital Remains and their album: Icons of Evil.
Here is the track listing, for an idea of how Eminem's rants are child's play compared to this!

1. Where Is Your God Now (Intro)
2. Icons Of Evil
3. Scorned
4. Born To Rape The World
5. Reborn...The Upheaval Of Nihility
6. Hammer Down The Nails
7. Shrapnel Embedded Flesh
8. 'Till Death
9. In Infamy
10. Disciples Of Hell

Go check out the lyrics if you dare!

Damn good album too though I think that their previous Dechristianize is even better.

You might also want to check the singer/lyricist Glen Benton's original band Deicide - they have some shockers too :)

In this day and age, every song is offensive to someone, and they want it banned to as if there opinion means so much more than the rest of the worlds.

'Offensive' lyrics are in the ears of the listener; you wouldn't believe the number of songs banned by the BBC for lyrics which we - in this day and age - would consider innocuous.

Two such examples are 'Relax' by 'Frankie goes to Hollywood', and 'J'taime' by 'Serge Gainsbourg'.

Little wonder that the BBC is known as 'Auntie'.

And to those who want to read the Vital Remains lyrics a rules abiding link to them is here (new Icons of Evil is not added to the site yet). That same site also hosts lyrics to many other metal bands including Deicide I mentioned.

Given where our country is heading, these are probably shocking and offensive to some:

Spoiler :

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!

Refrain

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

Refrain

Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

Refrain

What the saints established that I hold for true.
What the saints believèd, that I believe too.
Long as earth endureth, men the faith will hold,
Kingdoms, nations, empires, in destruction rolled.

Refrain

Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
But the church of Jesus constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.

Refrain

Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages men and angels sing.

Refrain

Heh!

I've been a massive fan of Deicide since 1990.

Satanic Death Metal rules supreme!

:devil:

I will gladly Refrain from that one!

I have never found that one offensive, merely amusing.

;)

Rap must be banned.

I can't see us being offended by anything within a few years. How much 'lower' can things get? Not that it particularily bothers me. Domestic Violence is more offensive than someone rapping about domestic violence.

I've been a massive fan of Deicide since 1990.

Me too.

And about that 'Onward, Christian Soldiers' - while I'm not personally offended by pretty much anything I think that those lyrics have about equal offensive potential with Vital Remains, Deicide and other satanic / anti-religious metal.

Gangsta kids should be banned. Rap may suck, but not bannworthy.

These lyrics are not over-shocking by Death Metal standards..

Blasphemy - By Morbid Angel

I am the god of gods
Master of the arts
I desecrate the chaste
Writhe in the flesh

Blasphemy

Chant the blasphemy
Mockery of the messiah
We curse the holy ghost
Enslaver of the weak

God of lies and greed
God of hypocrisy
We laugh at your bastard child
No god shall come before me

Blaspheme the ghost
Blaspheme the ghost
Blaspheme the ghost
Blasphemy of the holy ghost

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law
Rebel against the church
Drink from the chalice of blasphemy
Rise up against the enslaver

Blaspheme the ghost
Blaspheme the ghost
Blaspheme the ghost
Blasphemy of the holy ghost
