Main Menu Won't Load

oh, a Mac, hmm...and as PieceOfMind said, that's just a shortcut.

If you just click libary, is this the menu which you get right afterwards?
Because there should be a second row, with different tabs, saying "games", "media", "downloads", "tools", or so.
I see a small arrow besides "recently played", is there maybe a dropdown menu?

The arrow has all the tools, games, media and whatnot.

Now, when you're on "All games", do you get another menu if you rightclick on Civ5?

Ah, great .
There go to properties, then you should see different tabs, one named "local files". There should be an option to verify the integrity of the game files (or something similar to that). Please do that, hit the button there, and it should then download and replace some of the games files, which might have been corrupted.
That should hopefully fix the issue.

Where did you download Civ5?

If you got it from the Apple App Store then it isn't a Steam game, although I would expect it to be called "Civ V Campaign Edition" if that were the case.

If you did get it from Steam, then it should not be where that shortcut says it is. It should be in /Users/<your_name>/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/sid meier's civilization v. Either you have moved something, or Steam is borked.
