I've just recieved an announcement on screen that the game will have a
"Mandatory Retirement" at a certain year....I think it is 2050.

That feels like SUCH a ripoff. I've invested many hours with my civilization, building it up to approximately the WW2 era. I have Civ3 and Civ Conquests loaded. I know that Civ Conquests has little "modern" scenarios that you can play.....but I was hoping for something more, something along the lines of Empire Earth and similar games. I want to play up to and beyond the "Space Age".

Any ideas, information?

I was thinking the same thing... I hate the message "The game will end in XX turns"

If you turn off time victory will that let the game run past 2050? I'd sure like to go back and finish some games that weren't decided by 2050. Mandatory retirement is for congressmen, not global dictators! :D

Well, I'm going to take a look, see if there is a setting to "turn off time victory". I'll post back here with the results. Thanks for the idea.

You can continue playing afterwards anyway. Just click the "One...more...turn..." button.

Do you have to keep clicking that every turn? (Annoying, but effective I would think)

Hopefully turning off time victory will let a game finish under it's own momentum... I.E. I own 100% of the cities and 100% of the land.

All hail K, All hail K! ... Oooohhh K can you see? :egypt: :king:

Just turn off time victory, then the game keeps going past 2050 for as long as it takes for someone to trip another victory condition.

The 2050 announcement ONLY means that at that point Time Victory kicks in

Once a Victory Condition has been achieved, the game stops allowing other Victory Conditions, and it gives you a nice little summary, but you can Play as long as you want.

go to the custom game screen and diable the time option. You have to do this before you begin your game, once it starts, you can not go back and edit.

No, you only have to click it once. The only thing that changes is no more points will get added to your final score.
