Manufacturing plant and Factory

Hi,

Lets say I have a city that is producing 100 shields.

Question 1: I build a factory. Now what is my shield production?

Question 2. I build a Manufacturing Plant. Now what is my production?

Question 3: I build a Manufacturing plant first, and THEN I build a factory, what is my production?

It's not possible to build a factory after you've build mfg plant. So it's key to build a factory first and then build a mfg plant.

So, if I have both, I might as well just sell off the Factory then. Got it.

I tend to skip factories and race my technology up to Manufacturing Plant ASAP. Mostly in an effort to avoid the excessive pollution.

AHEM...this isn't Civ II. A Factory becomes obsolete after a manufacturing plant is built. Sell the facotry and use that money to build a power plant of some sort.

Oops. Actually, I'm probably thinking civ3, not civ2, but the point stands.
