All civfanatics out there, I am curious. What do you think of the conquest map generator compared to the vanilla version? I have two points so far:

1. Conquest distributes resources in a more fair way. More even distribution
of luxuries, no huge bundles.

2. Conquest is worse considering natural layers of land (e.g. from north to
south: tundra-grassland-plains-jungle-plains-grassland-tundra).

Conquest: I had a city with both tundra and plains within its borders on a huge map! That could not have happened in the vanilla version.

The generators are certainly different. Keep in mind that with the new tundra, it's a different computation that the program makes now when generating the maps.

Do I prefer one over the other? Don't really know....I haven't played PTW since before getting C3C, as it went MIA... can't seem to run PTW from C3C, either...

Conquests got it right in the resource department IMO. There seems to be less overall resources in a random map. The chances of any particular civ getting all the strategic resources within it's original borders without having to invade your neighbors is almost 0%, which I think is great.

I also like how the luxuries aren't quite as bundled up. They still are to a certain degree, but instead of all the Spice on the map being within one city radius, it more like 3-4 cities all right next to each other, which isn't exactly perfect, but it's a step in the right direction.
