The Second Map.

Meh, I fourth Bill's proposal, it is superior in quality to all others before it.

Hi, I'm one of the admins of the Micronational Cartography Society. I have a login here because I'm an avid Civ4 player and very occasionally come by to comment on scenarios and mods. Bill told me to come onto this thread and tell you all to join MCS.

Even though Bill's particular fictional history, the one that includes Apolyton, is messed-up and unusable (:p ), our map itself is pretty good and will only get better with the next generation of projects.

...and maybe if you join, it will finally convince Bill to make the MCS map for Civ4 he's been talking about for the past year.

I'll post it here:
Thanks to Micronational Cartograohy Society for this map:

Warning VERY BIG MAP:lol:

So how about this map people?

Put that in a spoiler tag, please. :p

I vote for the MCS map, I feel that having other micronations that aren't controlled by us would add a new level of interest to the game, without adding too much difficulty. (A new level, I might add, that is not achieveable any other way, to my knowledge.)

I like the MCS map as well...

No, we decided to do away with that because it's too confusing without adding anything to the game; we might still have states though, which are similar.

What if each player represents a town/city somewhere? At least in State Houses, the districts tend to be a town or two. It's far more plausible to have a new town pop up every so often then to keep having states boundaries constantly changing.

Or, you could cap the number of territories once the game starts and new people would have to wait until the next 'general election,' which would basically mean kick the really inactive people. Most of the incumbents would be 'reelected' as in real life, and you wouldn't have to worry about updating any maps.

I would support having each MP being a representative of a city, but I don't think we should kick people out just for being inactive. Plus then if we get tons of people who want to join and we can't add any new towns, we might end up kicking out people who aren't inactive. It would be easy to just add a new town to a map (only a dot and a name). Or we could just have each territory have several representatives, and the number of representatives each territory has increases as more people join.

we should start on that island between Passas and Stormark

No individual representation way too much of a mess.

If we were to do this, we need to get a handle on what the ground rules history and stuff is.

I will not play a game in a fake map.

I vote for the MCS map too (or rather, will as soon as I get approved as a new member). However, I am against having states/consituencies. Simply makes things too complicated without adding any real depth. Anyway, if we play this against other Micronations, we need to show a united front. Having states will just increase the risks of civil war.
