Marijuana is legal in Washington State

I think that if the War on Drugs didn't exist (and cocaine was legal), no one would smoke crack. Crack came about as a way for drug dealers to make more money off of smaller amounts of cocaine.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you that cocaine should be legalized. People have every right to do things that harm themselves. I do not, however, want police officers using it in their spare time. They shouldn't go to jail if they do but they should get fired.

Pot is objectively less harmful than both alcohol and cigarettes.

I can't prove or disprove this, so fair enough. This isn't an issue I know much about.

Come to Washington, and I'll teach you a bit.

I am all for leaving peaceful users of drugs (Any type) alone and not using the force of law against them but I do not support their use and I have no desire to use them. Cigarettes are legal, I know people who use them, and they should also be left alone, but they're killing themselves gradually by using them and their health suffers greatly. I have no interest in it.

Please don't use this forum to advocate drugs for 17 year olds.

So he should wait for about nine days;)

And three years.

Is it really 21?

I'm all for keeping that stuff out of the hands of non-adults (And I'm all for anyone and everyone VOLUNTARILY staying away from the stuff) but the repetative pushing back of the age of adulthood, it needs to stop. If you can join the military and get killed for your country, make decisions in higher education that can affect your future, get married, exc. you should be allowed to drink or smoke pot.

Relax, light one up.

Why would I have any desire to do so?

I don't agree with you very often, but this I agree with.

Ask me that question again in 1107 days

 I'm still in NYS so unless anything changes, marijuana use is a crime until the day I die:p

Of course, they are supposed to leave private users alone, so they just stop and frisk people. I'm so glad I don't live in NYC.

Move somewhere else?

I knew this would happen when Washington and Colorado legalized. People like you are going to make the Feds and SCOTUS put a stop to this. Hell the states might repeal it themselves at this rate.

You knew what would happen?

Can't the Federal government content itself to kidnapping people in 48 of the 50 states? At least with this particular excuse? Seriously.

I recognize this state of mind. Nice to not have to suffer from it any more. It's legal here.

Feds and SCOTUS will try anyway. They have been busting legal medicinal distributors as hard as ever. The Obama administration was just like the Bush in that regard, (and just about every other).

Just because its legal now doesn't mean they won't change it... And Federal kidnapping is always an option. I wouldn't admit to usage on the internet, not with the kind of suveilance we have now.

Have you ever read other things I have written here?

Ha, I expect the NSA any day, but not for this.

While I wouldn't entirely rule out the illegal silencing of a US citizen for exercising his free speech rights, the US government is limited by the fact that they have no law or statue that legally limits such speech.

Marijuana is another story. Of course, the Federal marijuana laws are unconstittutional, but many people don't realize this and the laws still have some popularity.

Especially if you've been posting a lot of other stuff they don't like, this could be an excuse that they'd use.

I'd still say probably not, you're PROBABLY OK, but I'm just saying.
