Mass Effect for PC announced

Hey, I'm enjoying Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Age of Empires II, Civilization IV, etc. A game doesn't have to rated M for Mature to be great.

But your missing out on some good stuff... *snorts some BloodRayne 2*

You're correct on that, it doesn't. However as you get older you will probably enjoy content aiemd at older people, I thought South park was utterly stupid when I first watched it but a few years later I watched it again and really enjoy it now.

I understand that, but stuff like Resident Evil 4, Half-Life 2, and Company of Heroes are too violent for me at the moment. Oh, well. I'll be enjoying Age of Empires II (I've had it for a few years, but I plan on reinstalling it tomorrow), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Mario Kart DS soon enough. And those games aren't rated M.

I don't think I've ever even played a rated M game once though, although my younger brother (who is soon to be nine years old) has played the original Halo and Call of Duty 4.

Pretty much every deep fan of Oblivion likes the Xbox 360 version more. Let's compare Gamespot's scores.

PC: 9.3/10
PS3: 9.5/10
X360: 9.6/10

And the Critic Scores

PC: 9.3/10
PS3: 9.3/10
X360: 9.4/10

And the User Scores

PC: 9.3/10
PS3: 9.1/10
X360: 9.5/10

The X360 version looks clearly better to me.

Blah, blah, blah. IMDB also lists Memento as having a higher average score then A Clockwork Orange, but, as good as a movie as Memento is, you'd have to be theatrically illiterate to think it better then A Clockwork Orange.

PC is better as long as you don't play it on a crappy machine like me. Better controls, modability, etc.

You do miss a lot not being able to play M rated games but a lot of the best games ever are T or lower so it's not bad. Screw AOE II and go play Twilight Princess. :p

But your missing out on some good stuff... *snorts some BloodRayne 2*

I'm going to pretend you never posted this.

Hey kung-fu nazi vampire hookers are hot! The maiming and blood are great too.

I just used an example of an extreme violence and gore. Psi-ops: Mindgate conspiracy also wouldnt be the same without draining your enemies brain power and exploding their heads or smashing them repeatedly against the wall leaving a nice red stain on it.

It's a shame the number of M rated games have declined. Companies trying to pander to children is annoying. Battlefield series game would be much improved by bleeding and blood stains. At least in COD4 when you shot someone in the head a big red stain is left against the wall.

Twilight Princess

I'm going to turn a blind eye to this.

The entire Link franchise has been milked to death. Only a company like Nintendo could this and get away.

Every company milks franchises:

Sonic?
Final Fantasy?
Mario?
Guitar Hero?

The list goes on. Some series' now suck for it (Sonic) others, like Zelda and FF still enjoy good games. At least Twilight Princess is a fundametally good game. Snorting Bloodrayne two is like snorting dehydrated milk.

The Legend of Zelda • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link • A Link to the Past • Link's Awakening • Ocarina of Time • Master Quest • Majora's Mask • Oracle of Seasons • Oracle of Ages • Four Swords • The Wind Waker • Four Swords Adventures • The Minish Cap • Twilight Princess • Phantom Hourglass

In each and every one of those games, the premise is the same. Save the princess in the lands of Hyrule. And all games have pretty similar gameplay except a few. The rest are riddled with gimmicks.

Pretty same with Mario. Kart and Brawl (Galaxy maybe too) were the last semblance of anything creative in that franchise. It is milked even worse then LoZ.

Lets say Valve tried to do something like that Half-life franchise. Making various spin-offs and variations. People would think they've gone mad and lock them in a rubber room in the loony bin. Also as far as I know, while FF is pretty much centered around the same idea, the world and the outlying storyline is never the same and often the combat system is always changed.

BR2 isnt that bad, it's a gorefest with a slashy hot vampire. Expecting anything grand from it would be much. Still I had fun with the game, the combat system had a lot of moves and fun finisher moves. Not to mention the acrobatics and the blood fueled pistols.

I wish there were more games like The Witcher. I havn't bought it yet but I lvoed the demo, although the combat isn't great (I really prefer controlling my swing ala Mount&Blade). As well I LOVE physics (and I have a quad core so bring them on, witches!), and if I shoot someone in the leg I want ot see a reaction from where they were hit, and I would like to see more wounded people rather than "oh shat, I got shot in the foot, I'm dead".

The Legend of Zelda has been milked pretty badly. I think the only reason people still rate them well is because they stick with the same formula, which has been good enough to last history.

Mario, has at least had spin-offs, but even Mario RPG and Mario Kart have seemed like they've been milked badly.

But geez, they're still enjoyable.

No thanks, consoles are better. Why? Because...

You don't have to worry about bugs.
You don't have to worry about patches.
You don't have to worry about installation.
You don't have to worry about stability problems.
Games are to played, not modded.

I was only referring to Oblivion. I'm pretty even in terms of console vs. PC gaming.

Games aren't "meant" to be anything. Whoever buys them can do whatever the hell they want to do with them. If they want to mod them, that's perfectally cool. Then they can play the mods.

There ARE bugs and patches for console games. Although they have been less buggy because previously there was no way to fix them so they had to find them before release. Also the X-Box 360 is hardly stable.

I really don't understand what you have against mods.

That screams something out.

Spoiler :
You must love Half-Life 2! And you will love Metroid Prime 3, as it also has real-time physics.

Well obviously computers are not for simple-minded peasants.
