How are you gonna get any units done?
Not sure what you mean exactly... lol
I'll be doing the units as normal units.. with different races having different promotions to allow for the differences that were in the original MOM.
I've got a calculation for the strength of each unit based on the original stats from MOM.
It will be
Stack size * Melee Strength * (HP / 2)
Some examples.
Standard Units
Elven Lords
Stack 4
Strength 5
Hits 3
CIV4 Stat 30
Swordsmen
Stack 6
Strength 3
Hits 1
CIV4 Stat 9
Stag Beetle
Stack 1
Strength 15
Hits 20
CIV4 Stat 150
Spearmen
Stack 8
Strength 1
Hits 1
CIV4 Stat 4
Pegasi
Stack 2
Strength 5
Hits 5
CIV4 Stat 25
Paladins
Stack 4
Strength 6
Hits 4
CIV4 Stat 48
Halberdiers
Stack 6
Strength 4
Hits 1
CIV4 Stat 12
Summoned Units
Colossus
Stack 1
Strength 20
Hits 30
CIV4 Stat 300
Death Knights
Stack 4
Strength 7
Hits 8
CIV4 Stat 112
Great Wyrm
Stack 1
Strength 25
Hits 45
CIV4 Stat 563
Fire Elemental
Stack 1
Strength 12
Hits 10
CIV4 Stat 60
Ranged units such as magicians will have weak strength yes, but they will make up for that by having ranged attacks. Which can hit 1 square away without getting into combat. When I can code it
I may still have to make a few adjustments for balance. But mostly it should be fine. Especially with the promotion bonuses.
I.e if a paladin had the promotion of lion heart which will end up probably increasing strength by 300%, he would be 144 strength. Add to that elemental armour, to increase defense vs nature by 200%, str would be 288, which is more than enough to take out other high value units.
This mod WILL have very high numbers, and alot of variation. Meaning that promotions will be critical in this game.
Keep in mind also, that you will be able to cast spells from any of your cities allowing you to severely damage any units coming to attack you, or any units you are attacking.
This is also not taking into account racial specific changes or any other promotions, such as first strike, etc.
Also take into account that the high strength units will be INCREDIBLY expensive. So make them at your own risk
