MatteM's unit modeling and retexturing workshop 2018-11-05

I am wondering, if there is any progress during the last months. You once mentioned you are working on submarines, and I will be in need for a early coastal submarine soon.
In addition, I have a unit in my mod called "colonial cruiser", but the graphic I use is too modern. All light industrial age ships I found in several packs are already in use in my mod, and the remaining ships are too heavy (predreadnought battleships). I think one of your late industrial ships would do better.

it would be useful to collect all the unit nif files, because when I get an idea to make a model of a unit, I remind myself that it is like this, when it comes down to it that a person is looking for something specific, it simply is not there and then he has to do it quickly.

Well I am currently working on early submarines, I wish there was a way to copy and paste Excel-spreadsheets on here since I have all the info about the mod
in Excel. Any particular unit you are looking for?

I am also playing around with the interface, basically I want it to look good on modern screen resolutions, so I am using mostly 96 pixel buttons, which makes a big difference I think.

Modern issues or problems are also giving me some ideas, for example how to simulate the semiconductor shortage or energy crisis? Modern production facilities should run
on 5 percent capacity whithout electricity for example, power plants being high value targets.
I am still curious about your submarines. Is there a one with artillery weaponry in your mod?
 
it would be useful to collect all the unit nif files, because when I get an idea to make a model of a unit, I remind myself that it is like this, when it comes down to it that a person is looking for something specific, it simply is not there and then he has to do it quickly.

and by the way, I will need a Su-27 MiG-29 model because I will be making additional units for my supplement which I will publish soon.
Realism Invictus has a lot of models of a good quality for Civ4. You have Mig-29 in multiple civs, and a Su30MK (which is visually very very very close to Su27) in Ukraine civ.
Trust me, even just for models, this mod is a must-have.

Yeah I was just gonna say I think RI has several nation-specifik versions of those aircraft :)

Yeah I have a complete line up of U.S subs at the moment, I guess you mean a sub that surfaces and fires the deck gun? I will check, if not it should be possible to make by messing with the .kf - files, but on the other hand the older subs that relied on surfacing and firing the deck gun could just use the destroyer animations since they hardly ever went submerged :)
