MB4 - GOTM24 Redux [ptw]

Well finished Space,

Remind me never to take a win at Emperor for granted again :)

A fine and noble finish Team PTW. Well done.

Thank you for the competition all of you, and I hope that we meet again soon on the Civ III e-fields of glory !

Well done team. A fine finish. :goodjob:

I'll post the final graph tonight. :)

297 hours???
And it really feels like it, too. ;)

It was great fun. Thanks to all in the team for a thoroughly enjoyable and for me very instructive SG.

And congratulations to team B for winning this. :goodjob:
I will check out your thread now and see what you did differently.

See you all around.

What we did differently is that we (both teams A and B) never stopped the offensive. You guys took a 40 turn build phase that let the AI's get to the modern age.

We kept going with cannons and cavalry when the AI had rifles. You guys spent this time building. If you are going for a conquest win, you should never stop. That's something I've learned. I'm a natural builder type so I know its hard to surpress the builder tendencies.

Team B built some banks and libraries to help us research to tanks. Team A built units in the late industrial phase. Team B got tanks 100 years before team A and that was pretty much the difference.

I think both teams A and B did get settler factories running in the early going. That helped with early score.

A most enjoyable game. Thanks to all.

The other major difference that I noticed, was that both Vanilla teams started conquests to the west, while we went east. I think the terrain to the east slowed our progress and allowed the chimp in the west to become an 800lb gorilla.

Even though we did not win, I feel sad the other teams missing the wonderful feeling of dropping a couple of tactical nukes on the Han :)

This game has now been completed.

The final scores are shown in the first post in the thread.
Some individual scores are not shown as they were not reported in the thread (or else I couln't find them).

I will remain subscribed to threads for a while in case there is anything that arises that needs my input.

Thanks for a great game everyone.

FYI, I checked the Jason calculator

If you guys had chosen to milk the game you would have needed a raw score of 14878 in 2050AD to win. That would have given you a final Jason score of 7841.

Denyd - we went East first and reduced Kuroda to a minor power and then we went and dealt with the big boys to the West. Our settler factory allowed us to claim the lands that you guys had to take from Kuroda, so we saved time and effort there. During the 10 turns or so it took to redeploy the army, we were in a golden age and expanded our army significantly. Have a look in our thread - Gormdragan illustrated the blitzkrieg very well.

Thank you mad-bax for running the games.
