Medieval European & African/Middle Eastern buildings

Great, so many of them! That orthodox monastery looks familiar, I'm sure in Serbia there's one just like it. I will definitely use most of them.
 
(*slaps forehead*) I just realized that your Nubian Barracks would make a perect "Ribat". These were NW African -- principally coastal -- centers which may loosely be viewed as a cross between barracks and mosques, with stats given accordingly.

Damn good idea there with the Ribat, never thought of that. What other medieval Islamic buildings do you use in your mods Ozy?

NB: My "private" mod begins in 1071 CE/AD (I'll explain why if anyone actually cares).

Just a few basics --

1. Mosques (of course) basically a cathedral with added advantages (reduces corruption) [this is the only Improvement, the other 4 are Great Wonders]

2. Dome Of The Rock. Increases effects of mosques and cathedrals both. (I accomplish this by actually having two Great Wonders -- DOTR Christian; DOTR Islamic --- in the same city (Jerusalem in this case) and limiting cathedrals to Christian Civs and Mosques to Islamic Civs.

3. Hagia Sophia; same mechanical approach as Dome Of The Rock; in Constantinople.

4. The Kaaba (Islam's holiest site, in Mecca in the allegedly real world) - free mosque in each city.

5. Alamut -- fortress of the assassins ("Hashshashin"); generates Assassin units.

And that's all, folks.

Hmm, good ones there Ozy and thanks for sharing. :)

I've got all those down as well for the scenario I'm creating for everyone. Doesn't start that far from the date yours does.

I'm also including:

- Madrassa (school boosting science, it has culture whereas the Christian school doesn't)
- Grand Mosque (I've got mosques parallel with churches and grand mosques with cathedrals)
- Sufi Shrine (special kind of temple)
- Arabian Races (small wonder, auto prod extra fast mounted units)
- Calligraphers Cloister (culture and knowledge)
- Caravanserai (culture and auto-prod camels, might allow healing in one turn here)

- Loads more wonders that I'd need my notes to lay out. I will if folk want.

Ah yes the Caravanserai :) I don't make them civ/culture/religion specific. Rather, I have a Silk Road Great Wonder (requires Silk plus a handful of marketplaces) which then auto-places a Caravanserai (luxury bonus) in every city.

Very nice buildings! :goodjob: But for some reason it's something wrong with the buildings large & small icons. :confused: Is it only me who have this problem?
 
Uh, of some reason it's working now. I think I may have done something wrong when I tried to paste it into the buildings-large & small file, but I have no idea of what I had done. Anyway, I don't think it's any problem at all. :)
