Medieval European Mod II Preview

Ok, we decided to keep the blue.

edit: and here's how it looks like now.

It's not added to all of the eras. That's just the different sizes in the last era. I posted it to show the finished buildings.

Blue domes are easily identified with Greece and its islands today, but I've never heard of any ancient or medieval writers mentioning them.

There is talk and evidence of gold and other metallic domes. That could be good.

But like I said, the blue looks good and isn't a big problem.

edit: nice work on the final draft

Oops, sorry. Well, umm . . . what I meant to say was that it looks better with multiple cities having blue sections.

Paul the Silentiary said:
…the fresh green from Carystus, and many-coloured marble from the Phrygian range, in which a rosy blush mingles with white or shines bright with flowers of deep red and silver. There is a wealth of porphyry too, powdered with brilliant stars, that once weighed down the boats of the broad Nile. You may see an emerald green from Sparta, and the glittering marble with the undulating veins which the tool has worked from the deep bosom of the Iassian hills, showing slanting streaks of blood-red and livid white… Stone too there is that the Libyan sun, warming with his golden light, has nurtured from the dark clefts of the Moorish hills, of crocus colour sparkling like gold.

You know, I think blue is just about the only colour not mentioned here!

I'm sure there was some though. He probably just didn't notice it.

Well, that poet is from 6th century and the cities are supposed to be from 15th, so that's ok ;)

Anyway, the mod is complete and will be uploaded... soon(TM)

My last addition was a LH made this weekend, hope it was ok to re-use Rade's crown :please:

Edit: Thats definitely young Tzar Stefan Dusan Silni(Mighty)

Hey so what's wrong with the eyes? I know I've just recently advocated for blue Slavic eyes ;) , but they were brown on the fresco, so...

Here's another screenshot, playing as England on the small 80x80 map:

Yoda Power, now you have to add him to the Twilight of Byzantium mod! :p
And can't wait for you guys to upload the mod :woohoo:

Yeah I guess I have to make a little update for ToB at some point to get the new graphics in it. Rifleman also made a very nice new Venice city graphic.

well his left eye (our right hand) is closer to the nose than the other eye

they're the exact same distance, it's optical illusion because his face is turned a bit and because of the shadows.

Hehe, nice map there Quinzy ;) Thanks, though if it wasn't clear it was just a game as the English on a clean map, so the cities are just where I've put my settlers. The actual map with cities (and proper Ireland) is on page 7.
