[Medieval / WHFB] NIPPON & CATHAY Armies vol1

Hello,

I have succesfully implemented all these units but have problems with these units:


Nagisam (They have no animation and are standing like this

CatPike2 (Just show up as three red circles)

May you please send the details to ART_DEF_UNIT_CATPIKE2 again?

Find out what unit they were based on (I think it is the pikeman or spearman) and copy all of the art files from that folder into the nagisam folder. Then copy the nagisam files over those.

Thanks, I figured it out. Nagisam was pointing to Hellebardier instead of Pikeman. So thats fixed. How ever the files for Catpike2 do not exist at all. Thats why the red circles. (According to the artfile provided with the file)

A question guys;

Since in vanilla Civ all units are white europeans, we are trying to ad more diversity to the units. Even though these units are meant to be for Warhammer fantasy game. I am wondering if we could use some of those for Chinese and Japanese units in TotalRealism Mod.

CATHAY AND NIPPON, what is the cultural background for the two? Is Cathay = Canthonese = Chinese while Nippon = Japanese?

hell yea use them for china and japan, i wanted to do that for regiments xtreme (replacing almost every civ with unique ancient units and formations) but that is delayed to an unknown date. (very buisy). perhaps you should ignore that catpike2, dont have a clue right now what i did with that.

I am planning to do some indian and arabian (warhammer styled...) armies too.
So perhaps you will find some more units to use in total realism
 
That would be great seZereth; We have already some Natives. But what we also lack are Ancient Persians: Spearman, Pikeman, Bowman etc. If you have a look at my thread with Real Persian Immortal that was completed by Rabbit White, you would get a feeling foro what I mean:

As soon as we have started our release, I will be starting with playing around with the nif viewer to take Rabbits model and replace his weapons. Hopefully its easy...

as soon as you got used to it, it is very easy, nif editing takes very little time when i do it, what does take time is fine justating, to make the edited nif look good with the animations ;)

i am very busy in my little time i have for making units, with units for warhammer and FfH II, so dont expect anything soon, related to persians.

Mmm..unless I'm missing something, only just under half of the Nippon units have buttons and only one of the Cathay units has a button (the spearman).

Has anyone made any buttons for these units?
 
Does anyone know what .kfm file to use for the Yari Cavalry? I tried the Knight, Keshik and Horse Companion, but the dude has one of his arms flung through his head.

Right now checking in the Cathanese Celestials. You didn't provide the xml for them. What's the animation and scale you tested them with? Shall I take Pikeman, Phalanx or Warrior? No time testing this all by myself so please just tell me.
And yes this post above is right. Most of the Button's are missing. Got any?

Warrior animation is best. Dont have any buttons, duke should take some screenshots and create the buttons!
 
which animation do I use for the samurai pikemen, someone in this forum said something about hallberer for the nagisam. Ive put all the other units in but I am having the red bubble prob with the sam longbow and a crash to desktop prob with the catswordsman #1. Any help would be appriciated.

Also th Nippon units, if I reskin the poleflags.dds will that put something else on the flags?

yes the poleflags will be changed by an edit in poleflags.dds!!!

with your crashes i cant really help you, cause it is most of the time a wrong linking between unitinfo.xml and art_defines_unit.xml sorry...

The WHFB mod will be released soon, there you will find the units working correctly ;)
 
Thanks for the quick reply. Ive got all the units in but the Samurai Pikeman. Im having the same problem as Houman. The Da Vinci problem. I dont know what animations to use. He said something in his post about the halberier unit but I cant find it. If someone could direct me to the proper animations it would be much appricated.
