It's difficult to tell from the demo because it only covers battles not the strategic campaigns. The battle AI seems scripted in the demo so it may be much different in the full game.

People on another forum have said that on the highest settings it looks like the screenshots that have been released previously.

I've never played Med:TW1 I only really got into it from RTW onwards. I wouldn't be put off further games from a game in the series, as said previous the game is always being tweaked. I mean, I bought the Command and Conquer 'a decade on' series and playing C&C1 again shows so much things which were missing that was added later.

Med Total War 2 will kick ass. if you computer can hold it, buy it

That is on the medium settings for graphics quality. My system is a few years old so the demo probably picked what it thought would work best on my PC.

I tried turning up the settings to the highest quality but there was too much video lag on the battlefield.
