Meet the Modders

Finally completed my part in a massive translation project. :woohoo:

Now I can finally get back to doing some other things.

I assume it had something to do with the Korean language.

It's the Academy of Korean Studies' "source book" (basically a university textbook) of original documents from the 1960s-1980s democratization movement in South Korea. I'm not the sole translator, but I translated a large chunk and much of the section introductions. Don't know when it'll be published, but the project is officially complete by June.

Yes, to English. I wouldn't know how to translate it to any other language. ;)

You do know that there's an eerie tendency for people in this forum to speak odd languages, don't you?

I figured I would introduce myself here because I don't believe I have before, although I don't really deserve welcome seeing as I've been here a while but just kind of showed up randomly.

Anyway, Civ3 is my favorite civ game and my modding is a side passion for my greater interest in History and video games. I love history and languages, of which I am fluent in English, Spanish, Turkish, and German, and working on Russian and French. I'm glad I found this forum as a place to share my creations although none have, as of yet, been completed or released (hopefully that changes soon with my grand 'Western World' project!) My favorite part of history is the modern era, from the Age of Discovery to the 20th century. I hope to contribute much to this modding community in its "golden age" and enjoy many wondrous creations by others.

Western World? Sounds interesting. Do tell.

I know I said I would work on things for Civ3...but a PhD program is seldom ever hobby-friendly. :crazyeye:

Here's hoping that I can finally get some more time away from the books however brief in the summer!

I thought i could post this photo i just took for fb, since i am somewhat back.

If anyone feels like helping me create a new set, check the byzantine set thread :)

A weekend on the battlefield

This year's season has begun, and I'm torn between RL, Civ and Re-enactment. I hope to find a good balance. ;)

Resource overload… uninstall that RL thing? Since the football mod isn't playable right now you lose nothing.

I've been wondering - what would happen if I play matchmaker between Bryce and Blender? Would they get along and produce many interesting children?

To the Modder Cave! *cue in Batman theme music*

You should come and play Mafia, a game far less corrupt -but more corrupting- than baseball.

Finally back here after finding the case with the serial number for my Mac version of Civ3 Complete. I do need to get my Windows laptop working again for map editing. Quintillus' editor works nicely on the Mac for everything else. Still working on learning the Map Editor functions of that however.

Been working hard at getting a position over at Blizzard games for a few months now (hence my relative absenteeism here). Doesn't look to good at this point, but that's fine. Might be I'll have more time to return to Civ3 soon...

I am surprised a WOW mod was never made...
